God, I'm so hungry, lately! I'm saying, 'a thread about food? Oh...." For me, it has to be a really good sausage, rather than a hot dog. Grilled, ideally. Onions, fried till they're brown, Beaver brand garlic mustard, horseradish, garlic sourdough bun - but not too bready, on the bun. But now that someone's mentioned burgers...a char-grilled patty of ground lamb that's blood rare, on the inside, seasoned with chopped garlic and a lot of salt, possibly fennel seed, maybe or maybe not melted cheese, feta or provolone...then see the above, for condiments and type of bun. But can we talk southern cooking...barbecue ribs so tender they fall apart, a sauce that's spicy and not too sweet, greens, and homemade cornbread? Oh, and maybe a good creme soda or cherry creme soda. KMsAngel, what is a lamb chump chop?

madammarque, almost didn't answer, the keyboard got wet from all the droooool.... what my shop calls chump chops are - you know how you can get a rack of lamb? if you cut between each of the bones, you get one small chop. they tend to be less fatty, only the one bone and more tender. from what i understand as well, our lamb is younger anyways and has sweeter taste = they're butchered around 5 months old over here. i know some americans think it's a very strong flavour and i've not found that over here.

On my weiners, just ketchup. On my burgers, ketchup and dill pickle slices. On my cheeseburgers, only mustard on them with ketchup on the side to dip the burger in....don't ask, I have no idea why. On my steaks or any other cut of beef, it's gotta be KETCHUP!!!!! I almost made my mom cry one year at a dinner she had....she'd bought a standing prime rib for 16, probably had to mortgage the house....everyone's at the table, I'm looking around the table, she asks what for, and I said "where's the ketchup?" I thought I was going to be banished to the patio.....on New Year's Day, in upstate NY.....that's how bad it was! [:D]

Grilled, with Heinz ketchup (no imitations, please). But sometimes I like chili dogs, and sometimes I like cheese on them.

I like my wieners grilled until they're glistening, with a nice well done/dark color, with a few darker lines to give them some eye appeal, no longer floppy, and hot all the way through. Then, take take that weiner, or weiners, and put it in soft buns just a hair shorter than the weiner, so that the end sticks out just so, so that any juices can accumulate at the tip and can be licked off. What causes those juices? Ketchup, a preferably mild yellow mustard, relish, and chopped onions.

OK, so I speed-read thru the thread and this is what I saw... Weiner....lips...beaver...kraut...coney....juices....crack....gusher....cheese....glistening...licked off the tip... You filthy lot LOL As for my contrib: Homemade ketchup - tomato puree very slightly watered down, drop of worcester sauce, small drop of soy sauce (light), honey and chili powder to taste. Indistinguishable when you get the proportions right. On my dog, I like kraut, mustard and ketchup. On my weiner, well...[:D]
