Pizza Delivery saves Rape Victim

This is amazing. This Man could have simply taken it to be a joke or something or tried to do someting HIMSELF, but instead he stayed calm and thought it through.

Thank goodness for pizza delivery.

That is so amazing, things like that restore my faith in humanity.

Just the other day my sister was talking about something that happened to her tutor, she was driving when a naked woman ran into the road covered in blood, the woman stopped the car and drove her to the hospital. After she told this story others in the class said they wouldnt have stopped one because "it would get blood on the car". People who actually do something are wonderful.

What is amazing, too, is that the man had driven 30 miles to deliver a pizza to a cabin in the woods.  Who drives that far to deliver a pizza and why did he decide to do so for this particular delivery?  Very lucky woman....

Knowing he saved that woman's life has got to be better than any tip.  He's an angel in disguise.

Rule -> RE: Tied up Rape Victim saved by Pizza Delivery (5/31/2009 8:22:04 AM)

What is even more amazing, is that the perp was released on bail.

DarkSteven -> RE: Tied up Rape Victim saved by Pizza Delivery (5/31/2009 8:33:32 AM)

Wow.  The guy rented a car and a cabin 200 miles away.  This is premeditated.

He knew his prey.  I agree with the woman - I don't think she was meant to come out alive.  I wonder if she was his first victim.

The size of the bill for pizza bothers me.  It's enough for four people.  Did he have accomplices?

A round of applause for those who have the courage NOT to say: "it's none of my business."

And as for that rapist (and all rapists): [sm=blasted.gif]

ChainedExistence -> RE: Tied up Rape Victim saved by Pizza Delivery (5/31/2009 9:25:49 AM)

Some of the facts about this story bother me...Like she was jogging and he drove up and she got in his car? I know she said she knew him, but still...... If I am out jogging and someone I sort of know drives past and says, "Hey, Look at my new car." I might stop and say "Hey, nice car,"  but I'm not going to go get IN it. For one thing, I'd be sweaty or wanting to finish my jogging. It just seems strange to me. She never said she walked up and he pulled her in. She said she got in. I am willing to bet there's more to this story.

Edited to add: Of course, I am NOT saying that if they planned a little get together and it turned out to be way more than she bargained for that makes it ok.

A 30 mile delivery charge has to be pretty hefty!! Kudo's to Pizza-man!!!

As far as getting in an acquaintance's car, how many women do that "to be nice"(not saying if she was listening to her intuition or not)??

Amen to that.  To the people who say "it's none of my business,"  I always ask then whose business is it?  What if the situation was the other way, how would you feel if you needed help and everyone said that?  The really sad thing is that so many people still think it is none of their business.

As for those who question her getting in his car....He was a regular customer at her business, so she even though they weren't "friends" she wouldn't think twice about it.  She probably walked over and said, "yea it's nice" and he likely responded with a request for her to get in and feel the interior or to show her how nice it was inside.  Thinking it would only take a moment of her time (and be good for customer relations) she sat in the car.

Not so fast. There are several folks over in the Pharmacist thread who would be happy to point out all the rights the rapist is entitled to in the Constitution.

It's hard to believe that someone would plan an attack like that - renting a cabin and all that jazz - and then intentionally invite someone up like a pizza delivery guy. It's a really strange mix of circumstances that fortunately had a happier ending than it might have had otherwise.

Just a little hyperbole to vent my frustration that such low life scum like rapists even exist.  I'm not actually advocating denying any criminal defendant his rights.  I leave that to people like the Duke University faculty.

I agree with you entirely. I'd finance the ammunition. I was only being facetious.

PyrotheClown -> RE: Tied up Rape Victim saved by Pizza Delivery (6/2/2009 9:47:25 AM)

it was only 800,000 bail(yeah, I Know that sounds silly, only 800,000), which means he just had to raise 200,000 in collateral for a bail bonds to take up his case... So pretty much all he had to do was own a nice house and car to get out.

I've had people I know (not just friends...just people I know more than just nodding hi to) want to show off their cars...  I will often sit IN the car to get a feel for what the car is like... space, comfort, how many cup holders....

just sayin'

JonnieBoy -> RE: Tied up Rape Victim saved by Pizza Delivery (6/2/2009 11:01:28 AM)

All well and good eh?, but, how many other rapes/attempted rapes pass unnoticed every day of the week because "nothing unusual" is noted about them by the mercenary fucking press?

And who's to guarantee that this is not a sick "feelgood" story? ... I'll be bold ... I'm sure someone has access to some info to spoil my potted theory  ...

Maybe he had a fridge and a microwave in the cabin ... ? [sm=evil.gif] ... of course ... a large freezer could have been useful?

Lawyer: Alleged rape victim was dating ‘abductor’ The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Friday, June 05, 2009

The Atlanta woman who claimed she was kidnapped and raped by a Snellville software engineer was secretly dating her alleged abductor, according to court documents filed late Thursday.
David Joseph Jansen’s attorney filed a motion in Sevier County General Sessions Court in Tennessee asking that his client’s bond be reduced from $400,000 on the aggravated rape and aggravated kidnapping charges against him to $50,000 each, the Knoxville News Sentinel reports.
Arguing for the reduced bail, Knoxville lawyer Donald A. Bosch said Jansen took a polygraph examination that indicates he was telling the truth to investigators when he said the sex with his accuser in a Smoky Mountains cabin was consensual.
The motion says the woman “orchestrated the May 26, 2009, kidnapping/rape as her bondage fantasy.” According to the court documents, Jansen and the woman met in 2008 at Tattletale’s, an Atlanta strip club where the alleged victim worked as a dancer.
They later began dating, and on April 9 the woman told Jansen she was divorcing her husband.
She also told him that she “was sexually aroused by bondage” and suggested the out-of-town trip, telling him to bring “rope, sex toys, massage oil and extra clothing for her,” the documents allege.
Associates in Atlanta had previously confirmed the woman’s interest in bondage role play.
On the trip to Sevier County, the motion says, the couple made three stops and a security video from one of the stops shows she had ample opportunity to escape or call for help but did not.
The video shows that Jansen went inside a store to shop and left the woman in the car at the gas pumps unattended for seven minutes, according to WXIA-TV. Other customers were visible in the video while the woman was alone in the car, and she made no effort to alert any of them, WXIA said.
The motion also references the woman’s two convictions, for filing a false rape claim in Cherokee County nd fabricating an assault allegation in Fannin County. She’s currently serving probation for the latter offense.
The court document filed Thursday claims the accuser has had psychological problems. Bosch’s motion says there is a “low probability of conviction” of Jansen, the News Sentinel reports.
An old friend of the accuser said Thursday the 24-year-old woman has been married twice.
“She was a really quiet girl,” said Amanda Crapps, who graduated with the alleged victim from Early County High School in Blakely. The woman had a hardscrabble upbringing but dreamed big.
“She always had high hopes,” Crapps said.

wow, how awful if this is true. I am really glad however. Not for the guy, if this is true, but that the woman really wasn't kidnapped and raped. She needs some MAJOR help if this is all true.

Thanks for finding and posting this.
