I was going to go looking for links....but I was thinking, it's pretty clear; We're just so fucked.
We had such a phenomenal opportunity, and we just flat out fucked it up.
A lot of others followed us. The world's in a big pile of shit...everyone drank the KoolAid....few countries, few industries...can claim innocence....
But truly, there's a really big shitstorm going on...and it's not just mortgages, or US consumer led indulgence....there's a lot of folks around the globe that have way the fuck too many Chinese barbecue's or DVR's....
An ex employee said it better than anyone I ever heard tell it before, back in the late 80's....and he was right;
"The least of us live like Kings today, compared to 500 years ago.....even 100 years ago." He said "if you were a King and felt sad, you'd clap your hands; 'BRING ME the Court Jester'....and it was so".
Then you wanted a feast....give just a glance....your nuance was interpreted....and, so be it.
Today, HBO provides your Jester, Domino's, or your pantry....even your microwave, provides instant gratification.
As you demand...as if you were a King.
And you are...to a degree.
You move from place to place at 60 or more miles an hour, listening to symphonies that were impossible for only but the very few to hear 70 years ago.
And your hair stays absolutely in place.
You can go see people in places....for a weekend....that were once only in coffee table books, in mere hours, that your grandparents knew they'd never see in a lifetime. And in some cases, for less than they paid for their first home.
And you eat better too.
You can communicate (and often do) with people you barely know, yet your parents were stunned when they could talk to someone, from their car....with a cord.
And they said...."I'm in my car....no really....I'm driving down the freeway....and I'm talking to you from my car. What? Say again???? I'll have to call you back....oh wait....there you are....so anyway...."
I remember that....first call (age 21) to my Mom, natch....."Mom......I'm in my car....no really....I'm driving down the freeway....and I'm talking to you from my car. What? Say again???? I'll have to call you back....oh wait....there you are....so anyway...."
I remember that all very well....a new world....muscle cars...youth...my first computer...7 inch (green) monitors.....(and considering there were only 29 people on car phones in any given geographical area back then....Mom didn't really have to wait).
Muscle cars (and my first computer) had to go eventually, we didn't fuck that up....but I think we may have fucked up a bunch of other shit.

I'm only 50, so considering that I'm going to have all my hair transplanted, have new muscles implanted (in 2019, when that'll be largely like shopping for lentils), get taller (via an external 12B 7 - 3, which many of you may be unfamiliar with....but I can 'splain it later), and finalize the construction on my orgasmatron.....
I just wonder occasionally about the next bunch that are coming through.....
Things just appear a little hazy right now.
Ya know?
(And by the way....with all them new muskles and hayur....I'm going to be shaking up the bars).
