sirsholly -> RE: Why Crunches Don't Work (6/5/2009 10:23:32 AM)

Interesting. Thanks for posting that [:)]

LaTigresse -> RE: Why Crunches Don't Work (6/5/2009 10:29:43 AM)

Well, that helps me feel much less guilty. I have never ever done crunches and situps. Riding my horses is a great core workout.

Christinestill -> RE: Why Crunches Don't Work (6/5/2009 10:43:16 AM)

i don't do sit ups cause i think i'm allergic to them. [;)]

Sounds like an excellent reason to avoid them dilligently!

A  pike up on an exercise ball is way more effective,

If that is too difficult even just holding a push up position works better than a crunch.

Google plank

I swear by sit-ups and I have wicked abs.   They're an old school classic that has stood the test of time.

Sit ups never worked for me...walking and cycling on the other hand...[;)]

I'm happy for you and your wicked abs. Those of us with degenerative disc disease have to choose - we can do crunches or we can have the use of our legs. We can't do both :)

I bet you also have a malfunctioning thyroid and a gluten allergy to go along with your degenrative disk disease...

Um..nope. All my other parts work like they should :)

MsLadySue -> RE: Why Crunches Don't Work (6/5/2009 6:21:22 PM)

Could be his age that accounts for his nice abs too. Not like he's had much time to let them go to pot.  LOL

I have scoliosis and arthritis in my lower spine as well as some fused disks, and I too have to make a similar choice.

stella41b -> RE: Why Crunches Don't Work (6/6/2009 5:35:44 AM)

GYPZYQUEEN -> RE: Why Crunches Don't Work (6/6/2009 5:48:24 AM)

or when somone eats potato chips in bed and you feel the  need to kill [:@] them

GQ

stella41b -> RE: Why Crunches Don't Work (6/6/2009 8:31:15 AM)

I see.. Thank you GQ.. I kept seeing the title of the thread on the boards and it's been bugging me for a few days. I would have asked earlier but it sounded quite painful.

I'm so relieved to know that it's a sit up.

This just makes me laugh. If, at age 22, you didn't have great abs, it would be sad. I remember when I first met Generic Dude....21 years ago. He had an awesome 8 pack and never worked out. Now......not so much so.[:D]
