colouredin -> Paying Homage giving thanks (6/5/2009 8:50:30 AM)

I have been looking at old posts and I have had some serious self reflection over the last few months. I have actually seen a change in myself and though obviously not totally down to who I read on these here forums to say that they haven't influenced me would be to lie. I wanted therefore to bring attention to some specific posters who have really influenced the way that I view my life and people around me, I may not always agree with them but they have taught me lessons that I will keep with me and hopefully expand upon, for that I am eternally grateful, I may find this post gets moved but I just wanted to say it out loud. I have had an absence, as many people know but in times of trouble I do run back here because I respect so many. Bellow is a list of people that I can pinpoint posts that have influenced me, but of course there are many others who have affected me in their own way. For that I thank you. I am not normally the smulshy type but the way things are at the moment I just want to make sure those who have changed my mentality in any way are told so.

Colouredin, that is a lovely thing to do!

I did similarly, with some people in my life, just the other day. Sometimes I think we forget to tell the people that are important to us, just how important they are.

I completely agree, I think I am very guilty of not letting people know just how wonderful they really are and spend far too much time telling people i do not like/agree with why. I am trying to rectify that though.

Wow.

Thank you, colouredin.

This was very nice of you. It's always nice to be appreciated.

And incidentally, while I don't know every name on your list, the ones I do recognize are excellent choices and fine voices.

Live well

Indeed that is a fine list of folks... many of those same people would be on a list if I created one.  Taking time to thank those that have inspired or influenced us is so often overlooked in this day of constant movement.  I do my best to sit back and reflect on those types of folks at least once a week, and while it may not be a vocalization of my appreciation for all that they do or have done... I do hope that they know who they are.

I wish you all the very best,
Thadius
