ORIGINAL: OsideGirl Let me put this in perspective for you: Let's say you've been allowed to date for the first time. You've been dating for three weeks and not neccessarily the same guy for three weeks. Would you marry some guy at that point in your life? I witnessed with my own eyes, two of my friends meeting in the winter of 1988, they wee married within a month and fave been married for 21 years and have four children. I KNOW for a fact they are more in love today than they were when they met and let me tell you there was lot of love 21 years ago. There are no set rules... that's just not how it works I think you missed my point. I did not ask would you marry someone after three weeks of dating THAT person. My point was if you had NEVER dated before, as in dated anyone.....would you get married three weeks after the first date EVER of your life? People love to point out the exception like it's the rule. The reality is that the majority of relationships fail. Rushing into a relationship when you have no idea of what you're looking for in mate pretty much dooms the relationship with few exceptions. Just witness the large number of three month long relationships and velcro collars in the community. So, good for your friends. They're the exception. Did I say there were rules? Nope. I suggested that she slow down and figure out if she even likes the guy before making a commitment. How terrible of me. <gasp>
