I got this in my email and thought it was just too beautiful not to share it. I always admired Audrey Hepburn and the way she carried herself.

Below is a wonderful poem Audrey Hepburn
wrote when asked to share her "beauty tips."
It was read at her funeral years later.

For attractive lips, speak words of kindness..
For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair, let a child run his/her fingers through it once a day.
For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone...
People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed; never throw out anyone.
Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms. As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands; one for helping yourself, and the other for helping others.

I always loved Audrey Hepburn. Somehow her words are only a written affirmation of the way she lived and the personna she projected throughout her life. I can only hope to be half the Lady she was.

I'm not sure who said this
but it fit in well here

To handle yourself...use your head

To handle others...use your heart

Thanks for sharing those wonderful words, I in turn shared them with my local Submissive Women's Group.

Thank you. They really struck a chord with me and I wanted to share them here. I especially liked this last part....and sometimes I think we need reminders of this.

I think this line means that so long as you have somebody who loves you, you will never walk alone. Of course the person/people are not beside you physically as you walk, but they are there for you in your times of need.

Veronica, I am here for you in your time of need. I miss you, please come back to the boards.

Erin, thank you for posting this. It is beautiful.

This could be a misattribution, the poem appears to have been written by Sam Levenson.

The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.

The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows, and the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows!

It appears you are correct. After doing a search this is what I came up with.

quote:

Contrary to what some may think, Audrey did not write this beautiful poem , Sam Levenson did. Levenson wrote "Time Tested Beauty Tips" for his grandchild, and it just so happened to be one of Audrey's favorite poems. She read it to her children on the very last Christmas Eve she spent with us here on Earth.

I do apologize for the confusion and should have done the search before I posted. Regardless...the words are beautiful.
