If you are a professional woman there are certain fashion trends that need to remain for home or casual wear and not be on display in the office. Some of the items listed are obvious; Crocs, Uggs, sweats, scrunchies, fanny packs, spandex or leather leggings, message T-shirts, or sport jerseys. A few are not something I except to see adults wearing unless going to a party or club; like glitter, sequins and major bling jewelry.

You may recognize a coworker or office cubicle fashion distaster in the photos.

I don't see why people are so wigged out over scrunchies. Of course, not to wear to work or someplace nice, but what's wrong with wearing one to pull your hair back to run errands or go to the grocery store or to the gym? They're soft and don't damage your hair. They're inexpensive and even easy to make at home if you're "that" kind of person. One person even posted a comment that scrunchies are "white trash". Well, then I'm white trash, cause I'm going to keep using my scrunchies when I need a quick pull back! So there.

Of course there are always exceptions if you work in certain environments and have particular clientele.

This is one of the many reasons I am happy to be both a tech and a guy
if I didnt wear some smart ass shirt threatining to replace people with very small shell scripts, I wouldn't look compentant

As for the list, since I've worked here I've had to wear the company logo'd sweatshirt during the winter. Fortunately they do not have the awfull elastic around the hem and wrist. Twenty years ago I wore scrunchies, but not now (haven't enough hair) nor would I even if I did. Those hideous croc things should be banned from my sight, where ever I am. Leggings usually only look good on people that are already too thin. And I cannot remember the rest......

Flipflops should be added to that list.

Hey don't go knocking the scrunchie, they're awsome, and nothing wrong with them in a professional work setting in my mind. They're hair ties and the only kind I will use.

If your work place has n o rules about them, then rock on.

Believe it or not, I worked in an office that allowed Crocs (shudders). I couldn't believe it; those damn things are hideous. Even grown men wore them. We were supposed to be business casual. Business casual is a pair of slacks or a knee length skirt for the ladies, a collared shirt (tennis shirts don't qualify) or a nice blouse, and a pair of decent shoes (sneakers don't qualify, nor do boat shoes). I don't mind dress sandals, which they make. But Crocs do not fall in that category. The damn things remind me of the plastic sandals they issue to prisoners in the county jail.

Of course, I'm a bit picky about things like that. I wouldn't even wear jeans when we were allowed to on Friday. I just don't consider jeans to be appropriate for offices.

Okay Vendaval, as IF I am not hooked on reading far too much online already.
Now you are going to have me reading and peeking at Shine also?
I enjoyed reading your link to Shine.
I was one of the first to buy Crocs, I think 3-4 years ago.
They were originally sold in sporting goods stores, and that is wear I bought mine.
I have never worn them to work ever!
But I might start keeping them under my desk and wearing them when I am working late, just to blow a few people's minds.

Where is Stacey and Clinton when you need them?
