Status: offline 		I can't say with 100% certainty that it is real.....but it sure looks real to me....and there are several places around the world (Hawaii being one) where they regularly get 30-40 foot high waves (picture a 4 story building for height comparison), and there are plenty of thrill seekers ready to catch a wave.

I also gotta believe he made it thru.

Status: offline 		When I lived in Okinawa there were folks that went out windsurfing during the 'eye' of typhoons.  Or would stand at/on the seawall watching typhoons.

Status: offline 		When i was 19 and stationed on Oahu in the Marine Corps i considered myself to be a decent surfer and decided to try the North slope and that size of a wave. All was fine until i caught one and things went very bad very fast. Guess i was not as good as i thought i was and ended up being thrown from the board then buried and tossed about by a wave about 35 feet high like a piece of litter in a tornado. I really thought i was going to die as i did not know which way was up and was almost out of air when i was washed onto the beach.
