i do not want to come across as a naive ninny...but don't you think the line needs to be drawn here? Determining the sex of the baby is a given, if the parents choose to do so. But why take it any further? Why take it to hair color, eye color, sexual orientation, etc? It is my belief those days are not too far away... Because it is a woman's right to choose. Period. We cannot restrict rights simply because we find a person's motivation for execising that right distatseful. If you are to forbid abortions on the basis of gender (or eye colour, or whatever) then what is to prevent other reasons from being added to that list? And as I stated before, there is no way to prove why a woman wants an abortion, what is to prevent a woman from aborting a blue-eyed fetus, claiming that she doesn't feel emotionally capable of caring for the child? Conversly, what is to stop someone from attempting to prevent an abortion by claiming the reason is that the fetus is blue-eyed? To start limiting a woman's right to an abortion for this reason, which you agree with, opens the door to allowing it to be limited for other reasons, which you may not agree with.
