There are a lot of fantasies I wouldn't want to carry out in reality, or that would even be physically impossible. I haven't had any negative experiences with trying a new toy/etc. that sounded fun, but there are a lot of dynamics which sound wonderful, but would not be workable for me.
On the flip side, there are lots of things that are fun to do, but don't do anything for me to fantasise about. It's part of why I have some issues with the whole Internet BDSM thing - what sounds good in your head doesn't necessarily translate to reality.
