Ok, let's see what I can come up with. The $100.00 at My favorite alternative store would most likely go towards a new toy purchase. Most likely a combination of restraints, blindfold, and such. The types of toys that every bottom should have of his own. The $100.00 at My favorite clothing store isn't exactly a store. I'd most likely make Myself a trip to see Ms. Martha, the gal who does all of My corsets. I could definitely get Myself an under the bust number for under $100.00, with some to spare. The $100.00 at a jewelery store almost had Me for a loss. Most of the jewelry that I wear is symbolic and though I have a good selection, I find Myself wearing the same things. The only thing that I would really want to add to My collection would be a family ring. It's something that I've wanted for a while. Think of a Mother's ring, but instead the stones to match My little poly family. While it wouldn't especially be something specific to the meet event, it would be a conversation starter to who I am, who My links are, and the way poly works for Me within a BDSM dynamic.

Hmm, I'm taken now, but when I was single, I probably wouldn't have spent that much money, even as a gift card, on someone I was just getting to know. The exception would be if he gave me the gift cards, but if it were someone I didn't have a relationship with, I wouldn't feel comfortable accepting that big of a gift from him, especially in that form. If he bought me jewelry or a corset, it would emotionally feel different from him handing over money or a gift card, but even so, that's a lot from someone I'm not involved with and don't know well. I already have several fetishy outfits, a toybag, and some jewelry that I love. If I had that kind of windfall, I'd buy professional clothes and jewelry, and get some toys that I don't have yet, probably something he'd expressed an interest in trying. I'd probably want to take him with me, and see how he reacted to looking at various things, what caught his interest, etc. It's a good way to help a newbie explore!

I am at a loss for what I'd buy in a jewelry store on a first meeting. Permanent stealth collars get bought there, but they're likely to cost more that $100, and one doesn't collar that way at first meeting. I don't wear jewelry myself. (I have some Aspberger traits, and can't stand wearing things that don't fit right and jewelry never does)

I wouldn't spend any money getting ready for a date, any more. Last year, I spent almost $1,000 preparing for someone who was going to travel several thousand miles to meet me for a two-week stay. It seemed only fair to go to a decent amount of effort, all things considered. Then he became difficult and cancelled on me five days before he was due to arrive. Buying things to please myself? Sure. Buying things to please someone else? Not on your life.

I am assuming the gift cards are from the OP for us to spend not from the sub. and I too dress for me =( DOMfidence) soooooooooooooooo... 1) really interesting shoes from MARS n VENUS..maybe the high cork wedges I like with tribal art on them 2) clothing...SUNHEART CLOTHING....an interesting Moroccon top with fringes..maybe purple or tan with fringes 3)jewelry..BEADWORKS.I make my own so I would get $100 in onyx beads or maybe the scarab pendent/GODDESS I have been coveting THIS all would be put together in a new outfit for the evening out with a new sub.. At the alternative store... lube and insertables, and other things that are single-use. Clothing---SHOES. Though only $100? Sale rack ahoy! (saw some DIVINE Via Spiga sandals yesterday...) Jewelry---for $100? LOL! Well, I would get a new ankle bracelet with a charm on it, and some sparkly hair clips. All stuff I can keep myself, of course!

Alternative store: I'd check out Mikos or Amazing for insertables/single use things, or more fun stuff for myself. Favorite clothing store: I'd better find a really good sale, if I'm only taking $100 to Lord & Taylor. Favorite Jewelry... We'll need more than $100, so may I please skip it and use it on the favorite clothing for a nice outfil/hot dress? [:D] M

This may be considered a bit off topic, but Cat, you need to dream up more things like this. During last night's carnival at SELF (Southeast Leatherfest) where I am now, I ended up with two of the prizes. One, a medical play basket worth well over $100.00 (some items needles, scaples, staples, and the accessories to make your medical play safe and fun) and two $50.00 certificates for Ms Martha's corset shop. So, please, Dear Cat, come up with more fun games! They seem to have a link to real life for Me. LOL.

Davan, I'm a bit lost with links here, but you can find the one and same right here on this site under MsMartha for a screen name. She and I were talking just yesterday that I've been one of her biggest promoters and she receives tons of messages from the folks that I've sent her way. Word of mouth is still the best way to go when you find toys, clothes, etc. that work for you. Plus, she's the sweetest gal that you'd ever want to meet! After I'm done with My good time here at SELF, if you have any trouble finding her, I'll be glad to send you the link. It's a little early here and I played quite late last night. I'm not exactly back on the ground yet. (Watch for upcoming post on a game called subbie-go-round!)
