Real time friend?  Do you mean "meat life" as opposed to "electronic life?" 

For me. . . it usually has to do with some sort of exchanged mail over some topic that the person has posted to, sometimes moving to IMs or phone calls, and then if it is doable coffee or dinner or just a face-to-face meet.  The "meat-life" meet is usually the hardest just becausee of time constraints and distance, but it can be done.  You just have to decide that it is something that you want to do. 

Think of it as a form of being pen-pals.

I go to a munch once a month...sorry to say they come as couples or owned..Don't get me wrong...I meet people all the time.

Thanks for the infor.  I'll do some research on the SD munches.  I took a Surf train there once to meat someone...It was a great non stressful ride.
