No plane here.  We're driving across.  We have to keep enough things with us so a truck will be warranted.  I still want to meet people all across the way.  How many folks have such a chance?  To Me, that road trip is going to be one full of adventure and meeting friends I've never seen yet.

Calvin and Hobbs?  You're kidding Me.  You do know what the last strip in syndication was, don't you?

"Come on.  Let's go out and play."

And the Calvin and Hobbes books are all in full color, too, sweetness. Now come over and sit by me, and I'll show you my favorites...

I'm tellin' ya, I don't think it's hyperbole to state the world just hasn't been the same since Calvin and Hobbes went out of business.

As for the road trip, when do you think this might come to pass? Because oddly enough, I have been coming to pretty much the same decision over the last several hours. I got it locked into my head earlier today to make my next trip to California a road trip instead of flying, and I'm looking at the month of July. If i do decide to go through with it, I'll be swinging way south from Minnesota and heading through Utah and Arizona on my way to the Golden State. Like you, I would love to meet up with as many denizens as possible along the way, and if the timing works out, we might be able to connect up along the way.

Can you say, "convoy?"

The Caravan of Kink. Look out, California, here we come!

Research, will  do a lot of good

LadyPact -> RE: red flags (6/11/2009 11:24:50 PM)

That would be perfect timing.  Would you like to travel with us?  Safety in numbers and all of that.  From My estimates, it should be mid-July.  If you want to go through Utah, you're singing My song!  There are some folks there that I would *love* to meet.

Not that I'm impulsive or anything.  LOL.

That is exactly the time frame I'm looking at right now. I want to see some scenery in Utah and Arizona, like Bryce Canyon, Zion, and the Grand Canyon. Then I'll swing down through Joshua Tree on my way to LA, or go through Death Valley and catch Joshua Tree on the way back. Or whatever. I don't know any people in those areas, but I'm open to anything.

I have to warn you, though, before you make any commitments about traveling together - I have a 2-foot wide Green Bay Packers sticker on the rear window of my Forester. Just so's you know what you're getting into.

LadyPact -> RE: red flags (6/12/2009 12:17:59 AM)

As a diligent Viking fan, you do understand that we will not agree upon football.  Of course, I found the team to be much more interesting when Culpepper played.  How can anyone support a team with such ghastly colors as green and yellow?  Of course, there is some fun in thinking about flipping that cheese wedge off of one's head.  LOL.

I'm thinking we could have some spirited fun during playoff season.  Fair warning of My own here.  I'm not exactly a quiet watcher of the games.  I yell back at every call not in My team's favor.  Often make the calls before the ref can make the explanation.  If you expect Me to sit still, you've got another thing coming.

Yep, one of the reasons MP fell in love with Me.  I was the first chick who could volunteer the information on just exactly what a touch back was.

subserviantfl -> RE: red flags (6/12/2009 3:59:34 AM)

References are only as good as the honor of the people giving them. I want to hear what a subs shortcomings are especially from someone referring them...why don't they want them if they are so great?
I don't do references, but I do think they may be useful if one is going to play parties with strangers.    M

Uh...Lady P...you are up just one state I think...it had to be Colorado you were meaning.  I mean, Utah is nice and all...but they don't have Otters or my wonderful Lady, and we would -LOVE- to meet you all!  And uh...we have Thunder in the Mountains here in Denver around that time too...ya know...just in case you were feeling like being with 800 other kinky peeps for a weekend in between driving.  [;)]

VampiresLair -> RE: red flags (6/12/2009 7:18:09 AM)

I dont do references for a simple reason... they are opinions. I have at least one former sub out there who I know would badmouth me at the drop of a hat. We broke it off on good terms, but not the terms he wanted. He wanted more play and I wanted more commitment, and when we didnt match he decided it was because I was fake.

The best advice I would give a newcomer would be to do your own research before trying any activity. Dont take someone's word for how things are supposed to go. There is a community here of people who have been doing this fora long time, and the internet has a lot of resources on every act you could possibly imagine. Steer clear of anyone who tries to make you do what they want with a guilt trip, or by demanding that if you do not you must be fake. There is nothing wrong with taking a few meetings before playing with someone if you are not comfortable enough to do so right away, and if they object then thats a flag for you as well. As a newcomer, you ned to go by your timeclock not theirs. An experienced dom will understand that, a player will not care. And anyone who demands respect and a title from the getgo probably couldnt earn it, so keep that in mind. Make sure what they ask of you is realistic. If they want to meet you at Starbucks, thats great. If they expect you to be kneeling at a table, eyes to the floor and holding a cup of coffee above your head as an initial offering in a crowded public starbucks... not as realistic.

GYPZYQUEEN -> RE: red flags (6/12/2009 7:43:22 AM)

RED FLAGS..

*" meet me at my house"
* "I'll pick you up"
*pushing to meet before you  are comfortable
*saying you need to "PROVE" your self by.........or ............ too soon
* wanting your # but not giving theirs
*Pushing for naked pics and stripping on line
*wanting you to call them Master or SIR right away...being polite is one thing..but
* treating you as THEIR sub when you are just talking as man and woman
on here at first..eg) obey!!!
* not focusing on minds or the whole person but sex right away
* not having a ref you could talk to...like a dungeon they visit ..a former sub..
* talking filth to you immediately....( hay later IF negotiated fine )

MoGa -> RE: red flags (6/12/2009 8:14:06 AM)

Might I add, that Arizona will be without Miss MoGa after the 26th of July. Sooo...if y'all are coming mid July but after the 13th *lol* I will be here.

For the OP: If all they do is bitch about their former subs..that is a red flag for me as well. If they say bad things about those who they were with before you, chances are they will do the same to you after they are done with you. No matter how you treated them. [:'(]

CatdeMedici -> RE: red flags (6/12/2009 8:21:24 AM)

To add to MoGa, too little time with and between subs--one wants to be chained, NOT a link on that chain.

<Chuckles>  I'm going to start calling it "Lady Pact's Cross Country Tour."

I'll be doing SELF this weekend, so don't think that Thunder doesn't appeal to Me as well.  At a gathering like Thunder, I might even run into some of the folks who helped get Me started years ago.

Actually, between you and Me (and everyone else reading) Colorado is definitely on the list.  I'd have no problem naming at least ten people off of the top of My head that I want to have a chance to meet in your area.  Since the last time I lived there I was based in the Springs, I didn't quite get to meet some of the fine folks out your way.  All I need is the fine CO people to agree to come together in one place to say hello.

OttersSwim -> RE: red flags (6/12/2009 8:44:34 AM)

If you will get me a list of those folks with contact info, I will be happy to try to coordinate such an event!  [:)]

We should maybe start a thread on this. Want to? The original idea was yours, and of the two of us you're the one who's definitely going (whereas I'm still tossing back and forth between driving and flying).

Or I can start it if you prefer. I'm going to start one anyway to ask for ideas on what sort of  touristy things I might see on such a roadtrip, but that's a somewhat separate topic from your Grand Tour concept. Whatcha think?
