The Hispanics (with the exception of the Cuban-Americans which are reliably GOP) tend to vote Dem. The GOP cannot afford further ill will.

The GOP can't afford to be the GOP. Period! Who haven't they alienated? The only group I can think of is old, white, racist, pseudo Christians who are members of the NRA... and even they have been bitching to them about how "soft" they've gotten...
