I've switched since I started down this path, since my UM days. I'm not one that was one way for a period and then went another suddenly. It's always all been there.

From first thoughts of my fetishes...which was like 15 with my first serious girlfriend. It seems most reasonable to start switching, really, because you're still exploring and learning more about what you like. I can't even imagine how natural curiosity wouldn't lead people to start by trying out each role. I guess I'm weird. :P

28ish (just in the last year really). I've alwyas had a thing for women, but never played around with the idea of dominating a woman until now (I have always submitted to men). My first fantasies were inspired from Exit to Eden (at about 6th grade, which was so hot to read then, I must add), and then led up to rape fantasies, and then I was kind of dormant for awhile, and then with my ex started exploring BDSM on the submissive side of things. I guess there was no specific time or actually decision to become a switch. It just sort of happens. I started as a sub but realized that I tended to argue and didn't have the full instinct sets the other subs I knew did. So, it sort of happened. I'd say I was in late high school.

30. I started out as a Top - at the suggestion of my vanilla girlfriend at the time. I had almost no experience with Topping or anything like that up to then. We had no labels, acronyms, or toys. We just made it up as we went along. One day she suggested that I try being bottom .. to see if I would like it. I agreed to try it although the idea just about made me lose it right there. : ) So we tried it. Very mild at first, gradually worked up to longer and more decadent play. She developed a fetish for having a naughty schoolboy bent over the desk .... ummm - I grew to like that much more than I would ever have thought. (=!=)

It was an interest for as long I've been in relationships. I got more and more comfortable with telling my partner what I actually wanted as I got older, though. (With my first girlfriend I felt so awkward about it that I pretty much kept everything to myself.)

I suppose 22-ish when I first put it into practice. I'm fairly dominant in day to day life, and I'd done some light bondage stuff as a top before, so when I decided to give a serious go to submission, I suppose that would be the time.

I've always been a switch; I didn't always know that. Orignally I came out as a Dominant, which I just find funny now (I think you have to laugh at yourself in life). It took me years to admit to myself I had a strong submissive side. It's one reason why I have such great respect for male submissives.

Always have switched. But, in the last 2 years I have been the Dom with my fiance. We have talked about switching, and it has only happened a few times. While we do not always switch during play, it does happen every now and then.
