And now, i can't stop thinking how hard i hugged my uncle before he left for Iraq...and how much harder i hugged him when he came back fairly intact. It's very painful to think of how many families will never be able to hug their loved ones like i did...but i thank them, and their loved ones, for serving and protecting our country.

Now i'm gonna go sniffle in the enchiladas.

Status: offline 		Damn, why did I look...sigh. I got my oldest back twice after he'd been gone for 2 tours to Iraq and I know I was lucky. He's been bombed amongst countless other things and personally saved the lives of couple of his soldiers. The experiences he has told me about from his time there are absolutely heartrending. We civilians really have no idea what it's like. Why I'm saying all of this I have no idea except I know I was very very lucky to get him back at the end of those two deployments alive and my most recent picture of him wasn't of his casket but of his wedding. It could have easily been so different...

Status: offline 		My son is still in MOS, but I am constantly thinking about how I would react if he got sent to Iraq or Afghanistan.  That's probably why these photos touched me so deeply and I needed to share them.
