to me, and it may be my faulty thinking duct tape is duct tape it's manufactured in a plant and then sold, and toxicity or not has nothing to do with who's selling it. I could be wrong am I?

Its a common misconception

Duct tape, as most people know it, isnt
I learned this from playing too much in the SCA, where we use duct tape for everything
the stuff called "Duck Tape" you can actually light on fire if you set it right. whereas a 10 buck a roll Duct Tape at Home depot will be much safer
I have even seen a tape that is supposed to be completely eco-friendly.

I have been gagged with vet wrap wrapped around my head. I could still breath through it, but couldn't make much noise.
