When are you the most content? What weather, conditions, situations keep you most at ease?

First I take care of any responsibilities I have the day before (homework, projects, thoroughly cleaning my dorm, laundry). Then I go out when it's raining or snowing (the worst weather you can think of really) and walk a mile (or more) to get to my favorite food (depending on how I feel). Then I walk back freezing and soaking wet. Yes I could have paid the 8 bucks and taken a cab or 3 for a bus but there is something about getting home after putting myself through hell, knowing I have no responsibilities and that everything will soon be perfect. One time my hands were so frozen that it hurt to touch anything for about ten minutes after getting inside. Pushing the elevator button was like jabbing my finger into the tip of a knife. But I love walking into my warm room, stripping off my wet clothes (not having a roommate rocks), and chowing down on my favorite food, not caring how much I eat. I'm a calorie counter but, on days like this, it's a free for all. Usually it's a huge Angry Burger (uh oh, product placement...feelin' hungry?) from a burger king (there it is again) about 20 minutes away and I always get a large (I love french fries). It's the greatest feeling in the world. Then I enjoy a cable movie, or maybe I'll play WoW. The only thing I'm missing is a hot bath to follow (I don't have my own apartment yet). Clearly my happy place requires some planning.

What about yours? Do you have a happy place?

My happy place is in my living room, relaxed on the couch with my girl's head in my lap, rubbing her neck softly
it gives me a sense of happiness and peace that I never felt before.

Spectacular question.

At the ocean....just the 3 hour drive calms me....but to stand on the beach, feel the ocean forces pushing back every micron of stress....my hair (what's left of it) blowing uncontrollably....and then....

A beach fire...a pack of hot dogs....buns...no catsup (that's for wimps)....a wire closet hanger.....and....

Life is all good again :)

I like thunderstorms; the more violent, the more I like them.
I like conditions to be 'easy going' and kept on an even keel.
Situation wise...pretty much the same as 'condition wise'; I like things peaceful, and easy going.

aww awesome. I love the cozy feeling. That's why I'm obsessed with camping in tents and cabins during very cold nights. To be in my warn sleeping bag with my stomach full of camp food (everything tastes better when you camp) and the cold air on your breath (cold air feels cleaner and fresher when you breathe it in for some reason). (Sigh) Who wants to go camping?

With My 19 YO UM, at the farm with the horses--rain, shine, hot, cold.

Second: in the fall in Carolina with the crisp frost and a fire in the fireplace--after returning from the horses.

Watering the garden.   I could do that for hours.  But not this year.   Too rainy.

Being at home- online.    Maybe I scored a goal --  that feeling.   Today tho- I went to a quiet part of the river and pondered.

(Jims death....   when he was alive he told me "John Doe" was a person who could not be trusted. ...well-- I popped in we chatted about his passing... then I went and pondered the reply I had gotten)

I think he was right.

Oh my, hard questions.

I need cool/cold weather. About 50 degrees outside, a nice, crisp 60 or lower (in F of course) inside, in bed alone under the covers with nothing else on and a good book next to me. The more wintery it is outside (especially if there's an open window) the better.

Or all that, but at a computer chair with my snuggie instead of the covers, playing something mindless that I can get lost in for hours.

I like getting lost. Having most, if not all, of my thought be directed at something other than being me.

my happy place would be with my two UMs, just down on the floor playing or watching lame cartoons on Nick, as long as im around my kids im happy. Of course a nice vacation on a tropical beach wouldnt be a horrible happy place either lol

Fitznicely -> RE: Your Happy Place (6/18/2009 6:03:34 AM)

A tent, overlooking the sea, me tending to my little bit of a campfire, the girl pottering in the tent or reading or something, the UM's playing happily...Oh yes, happy place...

a rainy day and I'm in my sewing room listening to my parrots tell stories

My happy place is those moments in which I feel comfortable in my own skin.
It is not dependent upon the external.

I think I love you!

I have a blue fronted grey!!!    My first!!

Lol, oh my goodness....the title reminded me of an EMT instructor who used that same phrase when describing placement of strapes against the glutes..............are they against the "Happy Place"??  ([&o] Guess you had to be there)

Back on track.............I'm happiest w/my grandums doing what makes them laugh, usually at the park, paddleboating on the lake or at an amusement park riding the merry-go-round, bathtime blowing bubbles at each other.

HatesParisHilton -> RE: Your Happy Place (6/18/2009 8:45:01 AM)

My happy place is a world before Paris, reality TV, Image Comic Punkasses destroying actual drawing skills and non-nepotistic grants as opposed to semi-leveraged funding-streams.

LaTigresse -> RE: Your Happy Place (6/18/2009 10:53:23 AM)

Home. My little house on the hill.

A cool rainy day or mega snow. Rainy days I can do whatever I want, almost. No work outside calling me. Good weather to work on art projects, watch movies, take naps.

Love the heavy windless snowstorms, huge fat flakes, temperature hovering right about 25-30, taking the dogs out into the field to run and play. Then back inside to dry off and snuggle. Maybe watch an old movie. Make a pot of soup and some home made bread. Maybe a batch of cookies. Take a nap.(naps tend to be a growing trend)

I also love to be out in the horse barn on winter nights. So quiet and peaceful, just me and the horses.

Crisp fall days hiking with my camera or riding my favourite horse. Bugs are gone, not too cold and the light can be amazing.

There is a wonderful solution to the above bolded. The power switch on the television makes it all go away.

On Ashers Lap, while getting my neck rubbed..... the only down side is it really pisses his girl off.
