I was idling the afternoon away, wondering what to do, when I saw a post from Trappedinamuseum (Trapped), telling me that Daddysredhead (Red) and Christinestill (Christine) were heading to downtown DC and would I please put my phone on. (I go months without remembering to carry, much less turn on, my cell phone). Eventually, the phone rang, and it was Red's made-for-a-900-number voice, silkily telling me that she and Christine needed a change of scenery and would I be up for hanging out with them.

Hmm. Spend a few more hours, eyes glazing all the while, staring at the screen or hit the streets with two of the hottest mamas on CM? Yeah, that was a tough call. We met at Kramer Books on Connecticut Avenue. It was my first time meeting the fabulous Christine, and her blonde mane is even more impressive in person! We sauntered--no death march this time; I had shinsplints--up the avenue to a coffee shop and commandeered a table with great people watching and a welcome breeze. And we talked and talked and talked. How we were doing. The ups and downs of romantic life. Job-search woes. You name it.

After we'd been there for a bit, Trapped joined us, and we talked some more. Then we made our way to the Pleasure Place "naughty shop," for which Red had a gift certificate. We had a blast looking at everything from anal beads to rhinestone collars to thigh-high boots in red patent leather. Christine tried on a fabulous red feathered mask, and I found myself quietly wondering if some items came with instructions. Red found some goodies, and I think Trapped found something too.

Then we jaydashed across four lanes of traffic to hit the Leather Rack. We oohed and aahed over floggers and crops, and Red conducted an impromptu workshop on impact play. I still have the marks. We stimulated the economy a bit there too, good citizens that we are.

Next we crossed Connecticut again (at a light this time) to dine at the Polo India restaurant. We swiftly discovered that we'd found the one place in town that wasn't air conditioned, but we braved it anyway and were rewarded with a divine meal and, of course, more wonderfully kinky conversation. By the time we finished, night had fallen, and it was actually cooler outside than in.

Then, alas, we had to part. I walked my temporary harem (far sexier than I deserved) to the Metro, and we all swapped hugs. They headed off toward home, and I ambled back to my place, delighted that the fates had sent me such lovely company.

Sounds like a fun afternoon, certainly more entertaining than sitting on a computer, or dawdling about the place.

I can't help but sit here and laugh and smile at all the wonderful memories that we made yesterday.  I could never have made such an eloquent, factual, and amusing opening post as you did, DC.  *hugs*

I had the best time with the three of you, and I'm sooo glad that everyone had the chance to meet.  I've adored all of you on your own, and now that we have added the lovely Christine to the mix, it's even better.  I think it's wonderful that we were able to share the funny and the serious parts of our day with one another.  Somehow it makes life easier to bear.

Laughing on the metro till I almost burst was the best, especially since Trapped was stuck, sitting next to me, hoping my mute button would be found soon.  I can't help it, she and Christine had me in stitches and it was like my string was in a perpetual state of "pull."

Dinner and the coffee shop were so nice.  It was beautiful outside and the people watching was fun, too.  I loved going to the naughty shops with you all.  Being the only one with a Toppy side was just awesome, especially with all the ouchy toys being right there at my disposal.  *sighs blissfully*  One day, we will have to go to the club and I can play with you the right way.    But for where we were and what I could do, it was very nice.  I'm sorry your marks have faded.  Christine's have, too.  Perhaps we will have to meet again, sooner than later, and remedy that.

*hugs to all of you wonderful friends*

Love,
Red

I don't think there is much more that I can add to this.  It was absolutely amazing to meet Christine (who is just as gorgeous and fabulous and fan-fucking-tastic in person as she is on the boards.  It was also pretty freaking cool to get to hang with DRH and DC again.

It was such a blast to see them all, and I look forward to many more sojourns and exploring into the city...

Who needs a death march?
