My new anwering machine message- As you know I bought a foreclosed house. I get calls from bill collectors - for the lady who lost the place. They don't believe me when I say there is no Tina here. They use an old database-- I changed my number- but they did a neighborhood search and snagged the new number. So now I get calls for Tina- but a guy named John once had this new phone number- so now I get calls for Tina and John. And same deal. No matter what I say I lose. Well- I decided the screw the credit cards- so now I get calls for Tina, for John and for myself.
I drive them crazy because now I plenty of experience at this.
They ask for (pick a name) I quietly set the phone down. I then go back to my task- often on the computer.
I refuse to pay for caller- ID which can be spoofed. So I am me- I am Tina I am John. I am happy to answer MY phone- the phone for which I pay to bring into my home. MY home- not Tinas home. Not Johns home...
So- I politely-- merry and gay- simply set the phone down...and walk away. To hang up they call right back. So- I now know I must not hang up on the very important caller.
So I set the phone down. I answered the question. Yes- I am here. Then go about my happy care free day.
I no longer argue, get mad, or engage in debate. I no longer ruin a joyful moment by these intrusions- calls a few times a day for now close to 3 years. I refuse to have a worse day when I am already having a bad day. I know know that I am here, Tina is here and John is here.
During the time I am "here".
In a way- they might hear Alex Jones show- or a youtube vid and then wonder what the heck is on TV. So far- they have not heard my porn- as I do amuse myself - with that. But I am polite- I learned- that I am here, that Tina is here- and the John is here.
Now it would be rude to hang on on them- but if they hang up on me- then I suppose I should be a good sport.
So we all are here. We are here for 3 minutes- 10 minutes- even as long as 8 hours- it all depends on when I realize that my caller had hung up on me. I wont ruin my happy day.
