Yes, I have to admit it is sadly true.

You see, Sarah and I grew up in together in Moosejaw where we did the usual childhood things like hunting caribou
and muskoxen.

The splatters of blood in her hair as we field dressed them under the full moon glowed like rubies.

And of course there was holding hands by the fire as we roasted whale blubber after the Friday night dog sled races.

I fell in love.

But, alas, she was swept off her feet by one of the champion dog sled racers who gave her the bright lights and excitement of the big city life in Wasilla.

How could I possibly compete with that?

Apparently the "average Joe" voters who selected McCain in the primaries were thinking,

"we can't possibly nominate Romney, since he's a Mormon, even though he looks way more Presidential than McCain and isn't an ignoramus on the economy".

McCain and his closest advisors then picked Palin. The Republican base loved her. Hopefully the same voters will select her to run in 2012.
