Im curious if anyone has the same problem I do. When I am experiencing pain, I tend to laugh. Its a real problem because the more pain Im in the harder I laugh. Its really screwed up! I was wondering if anyone else has this problem. I have not done anything in bdsm yet and am worried I wont be able to use a say something when it becomes too much.

Sometimes hysterically and the more it hurts, the harder I laugh till I'm in tears. It's wonderful and cleansing. Enjoy. ;)

I have not experienced this yet, but would find it fascinating to see where the laughter ends—if it ever does.

Caning & Laughing!

Behaviors and Reactions During Play
Reposted:
Nothing happens to EVERYONE.

However, emotional reactions of EVERY kind are normal in scenes.

Scenes are not rational headspaces, they evoke "weird" responses. Whether it's hysterical crying or hysterical laughter, I've has all sorts of crazy emotions in scenes.

Just go with it.

Adding:
Anytime you start a question with "Does anyone else...?" the answer is ALWAYS yes.

Shivats,
Yes. I was running in my livingroom and I tripped on our tolley motor (dont ask) and I broke my toe. I laughed hysterically all the way to the ER. Someone once told me that my senses get confused. Not sure how true THAT is, but I do know that the harder I am laughing while in pain, the more pain I am actually in. I would hate to see how I would react if I woke up during an operation lol

Yep, Ive been known to do that. It kinda ruins the scene, but they know that I do have a habit of laughing at inappropriate times. Usually I can expect a hard spanking and a stern "wipe that damn grin off your face". That usually does the trick :)

It doesn't ruin the scene for me at all, just takes it to a different level of intensity and mindfuck.

Can't say i have ever laughed during extreme pain. i have laughed at very inopportune times, however (suddenly thinking of Mary Tyler Moore's, Freckles the Clown funeral). my boss was ticked at someone and started screaming at ME about it as i was the closest around. i was so nervous i burst out laughing and had to run out of his office. So, no laughing for pain, but i laugh when nervous. It got me slapped a lot as a child for having a "bad attitude." ~ grin ~

Yup. I often laugh while scening. For some Dominants this does seem to add a bit of fuel to their fire...lol. "So you think that's funny huh? Whack, well how do you like me now?" Usually followed by even harder giggling. It can turn into a vicious circle...

I had my tattoo guy all screwed up once because I laughed for 10 hours straight while he tattooed my back. He said I was the first that ever reacted that way. He said some may start off that way...but he never had anyone do it for 10 hours. The next day...man my ribs were killing me!

I don't think it's screwed up at all. A lot of people laugh when in pain. Sometimes, extreme pain causes mixed signals in the brain, and the immediate response is laughter. I don't know all the psychological or physiological terminology for it, but it's quite normal.

There have been times when Master has hit me so hard, and it hurts so bad, that all I can do is laugh. I have no more control over it than I do over my own heartbeat. It's immediate, and the more pain He inflicts, the more I laugh. Eventually, though, that laughter turns into tears.

Not too certain about the physical aspects of laughter to pain response but I have always had a lunatic-jackal laughter/giggle that is uncontrollable whenever I am severely distressed. Actually scares most people around me. Never out of physical pain, just laughter when it couldn't be less expected from psychological causes.

My slave laughs when in pain, the more pain she's in the more she laughs.

The other night my girl and a friend were having some fun with wax play. Most were all stacked on her back while she was on all fours. Our friend placed a candle under her belly while arranging the candle on her back. I said something to the effect of, "cook her!" when I saw the candle on the floor. My girl started to gigle which knocked over a candle on her ass which poured wax right down her behind. The pain made laugh harder, I laughed harder, our friend was laughing, I took a quick shot before cleaning her up. Here is a link to the photo (yes, I own the copyright):

I like it though, lightens the mood. :)
