Who's Ed McMahon? Is he really famous in the US?

Johnny Carson's sidekick. Publisher's Clearing House hack. And sadly, old man that married a younger woman and got taken to the cleaners. The man died broke and broken.

I've heard of Johnny Carson, but not sure what he's known for.

The old man got took to the cleaners? Died broke and broken? ... sounds like a sad ending to a life of poor decisions. At least he managed to get old ...

Former host of the "Tonight Show", maybe the best television host ever. Which probably sounds like I'm damning him with faint praise, but the truth is back in Johnny's day, class went a long way in television, and Johhny was one of the classiest men ever to stand in front of an audience. Very intelligent, very funny, and one of the most genuinely gracious hosts in the history of television.

Johnny was kinda like Graham Norton, only not nearly as funny, or gay.

MasterG2kTR -> RE: Goodbye, Ed McMahon (6/23/2009 5:22:10 PM)

I heard he already has a new gig lined up in heaven

"He-e-e-e-e-e-e-e-r-e-s Jesus"

Seriously though....he will be missed.
