The boyfriend made reservations at a fancy restaurant for Valentine's Day and planned a day FILLED with suprises for me... I can only imagine what he's done...

I haven't slept in two nights, am totally physically drained, but alas, the brain is still spinning.

=(

Know of any good, old fashioned sleep remedies (besides sleeping pills)? Send them my way!!!

Nyquil....or as it should be called Coma in a Bottle. Not exactly the healthy way to do it but it works....fast.

Benadryl. It works nicely. As one who has bouts of insomnia I have used Benadryl and I am pleased with the results.

A bottle of vodka and some tonic water will help also. What you do is you throw the tonic water away and chug the bottle of vodka. It works too... although I don't suggest that you use it too often.

Don't combine the Benadryl with the vodka though... that could be bad.

LOL - it must be 2006 if Nyquil and benadryl are considered "old fashioned remedies" ;-)

Whenever i cannot sleep - which is EXTREMELY rare, i like to visualize. Floating down a winding brook on a warm summer day seems to work best for me. i try to imagine as much detail as i can. The sound of the water, the feeling of floating, the sun streaming through the trees, the leaf floating along besides me .... the ... wate ...zzzzzzzz

I use visualization too...

I start with the number 100...and picture it, in some sort of texture...say bricks, or feathers...or crayon drawing. or actually made out of crayons...(everyone needs to be different) picture the number...how it would feel, smell...anything that is distinctive...then go to the next number down...(99) and picture that made out of something else (twigs maybe?) how would this one feel if you touched it?

I usually don't make it out of the 90's...and I'm an insomniac!

good luck!

DAYquil does that to me, go figure. I know it's supposed to be the other way around, but I'm back-assward.

As far as benedryl, it's actually the "PM" part of Tylenol PM....it's Tylenol with Benedryl.

When having troubles sleeping I love Sleepy Time tea...I think it is by celestial seasons. but it is very relaxing a soothing and really seams to work. A cup of that along with your bubble bath and you should be sawing ZZZZ"S in no time.

And I always thought you chugged the vodka and hit yourself over the head with the bottle of tonic water. Except, in My case, it is a bottle of Chevis and an 8 pound bag of ice cubes.
Seriously, I vote for the warm bubble bath. And then seaturtle's visualization tecniques. Now be sure to get out of the tub and into the bed before you start visualizing. We don't want you to drown!

1) Go to the gym at least 4-5 hours before bedtime. Do some aerobics and weight lifting. Push yourself a little, and be sure to work up a good sweat.

2) Treat yourself to a nice, well-balanced meal at least 3 hours before bedtime. Don't have more than 3 or 4 alcoholic drinks with the meal or for the duration of the evening. No alcohol one hour or less before bedtime!

3) Soak in a hot bath 2 hours before bedtime. Use your favorite bath oil and candle fragrance. Masturbate to orgasm at least once. An alcoholic drink or two is okay, as long as you adhere to the 4-drink maximum rule for the day.

4) Have yourself a Goji Juice cocktail (1-2 ounces of Goji Juice mixed with 6-8 ounces of sparkling water) about an hour before bedtime. A light snack is permitted, but avoid refined sugars and grains.

5) Get comfortable in bed, and masturbate to orgasm at least one more time. Time your last orgasm to occur at least 15-20 minutes before the usual sleep time you had before your insomnia troubles.

6) Read something interesting in bed until you feel sleepy. Chances are very good that this won't take too long.

7) Turn the lights off.

8) zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
