i may be a little over opinionated at times and may shoot my mouth off just a little too often...hell, maybe alot. but i'm really a nice guy who would be there for a friend in a pinch. some things pop up and i get a little too passionate about them, i really should learn to bite my lip and shut my mouth. i apologize for my behavior and shall attempt to tone it down a bit. some tell me that i need to keep my opinions to myself while others tend to tell me to not back down. i am torn between these junctures and, in the end, i tend to back away and crawl into a quiet corner for awhile. i could write a whole bung of reasons, excuses or whatnot for why i put my foot in my mouth (no i'm not seeking pity or any BS like that, so please don't even suggest the contrary). this forum is merely a poor attempt at explaining my behavior. so, let the slamming begin...LOL

Why explain, just be who you are. Make the most of it certainly, try and ensure you don't simply present a negative side of yourself, but be who you are and if others don't like it, can't accept it, who cares. They are obviously not people you are looking for. The impression I got from past posts was someone who IS generaly a nice guy, just one who lacks some confidence and gets a little negative about himself, but someone I'm sure will eventualy find what he is looking for here[:)]

Never, ever explain who you are--I personally do not suffer arrogant, boorish, fools well--that is Me, and it isn't going to change--I don't apologize to anyone. michael, when you start apologizing for who you are, you begin to live by the standards of others--hell we all struggle, we all have our opinions, prejudices, and preceptions---LMAO--yeah to lord it over each other---and michael what do you hear in a cemetery-- nothing, only the sounds of silence---speak on dear one--good, bad or indifferent, but speak! Don't tone anything down Micheal, its like Fastlane said...it is the different opinions we seek here, if nobody spoke up it would be a dull board indeed. I read the thread that i suspect generated this comment, and in my opinion you said nothing outrageous, and in fact were treated rather unfairly and quite coldly & callously insulted. Stand tall & speak out

Hmmm...I personally always enjoy what you have to say. You have the knack of surmising a thread and providing a momentary pause…whether it be by adding new insight (usually with a twist), understanding and support or my favorite, some quirky one liner that simply makes me smirk. I have no doubt that you put a part of you in each of your replies and all I can say is “that takes guts!”. edited to add--If you write to please the world, you'll forever be spinning your wheels but it you write to please yourself, you'll always have at least one fan.

I feel the same be who you are. But sometimes when you get passionate about something and burst into your opinion don't be offended when others burst into theirs. I love arguing over topics and feeling passionate about things.. just never hold any grudges .. at leaste that's how I feel. Happy V-day Michael!

Who gives a flying rats fuck what anyone else thinks about you? You are entitled to your opinions no matter if they are wrong or right. Let's face it... opinions are the spice that gives the boards flavor. Without them they would be a bland place that would vaguely resemble the inside of George W's mind. Rock on Michael!

thank you all for your heart-filled and warm replies...i shall endeavor to "keep it interesting" and maybe provide a few laughs along the way... i spent hours last night singing to Barry Manilow in order to calm myself and clear my head. am singing with him as i type this post. it's my current, self-prescribed therapy and it tends to work for the most part. as my signature says:

hey, he's a musical genius. [:D] his songs mean alot to me and i can actually come close to sounding like him...but not completely as i personalize my singing to make it mine...i also do Neil Diamond, The Eagles, Lionel Ritchie, some Billy Joel, Inglebert Humperdink, and a few others...i also love doing male versions of female songs...i'm multi-talented...LOL

As to your OP, I agree that you should not keep something to yourself or bite your tongue. I do that Myself on ocassion and it hurts like hell! S But I do look at how people present their difference of opinion. That will affect how I view someone, whereas, the actual opinion (albeit different) will not affect Me at all. It is a matter of angrily disagreeing and trying to pound your point home vs. charmingly disagreeing and making your point well. My POV only. All others' MMV.
