DemonKia -> RE: online real or not (6/29/2009 11:45:39 PM)

Now I 'have' to cop to waiting on some threads until they reach the point where they've probably been overtaken with flame-wars, flirting, & other irrelevancies before I read them, lol . ... . Once a thread gets to page 4, 5, 6 -ish territory, especially when it looks like a trollish & / or naive original post, there's a good chance that, in my estimation, it offers a higher probability of entertainment . . . . . & *snort* I dress up what you said, Venatrix, with the gloss of how this all offers me the 'important' opportunity to observe human behavior & social interaction. That it's in text, & requires that I participate textually just makes it all the better. Frankly -- & I'm gonna totally reveal my uber-geekiness here -- I'd rather hang out online than in a great many real-life social gatherings; I have more control about my experience of conversations; everybody who's inclined gets a chance to participate & be heard (within the TOU); conversations are far more disciplined & on topic, despite the derailments (I find derailment a much bigger problem in vocal, in-person conversations, personally -- I'm a terrible offender that way, lol); & on & on . . . . . [;)] quote:
ORIGINAL: Venatrix I couldn't agree more with your lovely self. Given that most of the topics are a re-hash anyway, if it weren't for the derailments most of us wouldn't bother reading the threads in the first place. God knows I get tired of giving the same answer over and over. If I led a livelier existence, maybe I'd have something different to say, but until that blessed day comes, it's same old, same old with me.
