So I jut got back from Masters Retreat ... wow.. what a weekend... I had been before but it effected me in ways I can not begin to understand yet. It is going to take me some time to process all the information and emotions. I went with little expectation and left with a new understanding about myself. First I have to say that I have not been making myself avaliabe to what my path is.. I have not been saying yes to the universe. I have been looking for the perfect match in a boy... he had to fit this criteria and that criteria before I would consider him... and in that I have been very shallow. I listened to a class given by a leatherman called SlaveMaster and came to an understanding that you just have to say yes to the universe and it will provide you what you need instead of what you desire... and in that your desire will be met.. That in order to attain obedience I must be obedient to my calling. That I too must be obedient.. so simple and yet so internaly important.. and Perhaps it is my path to never have a ltr boy and if that is so then ok.. Anyhow I just wanted to share... Ms.B.

I'm glad that retreat effected you in such a positive way. It sounds like you had a fantastic revelation within yourself and I'm happy that the event included something so uplifting for you. Thank you for sharing your reflections with us.

I think sometimes we forget how much of a hand we really have in our own history and future. It is as though we want to be so passive about living this life. The thing is, living our life as we believe we should and, in doing so, making some very stern decisions, is far from a passive task. Letting our partner find us, or even seeking them out based on them just happening to fit what we desire is a diservice to everyone. Remaining open, yet focused, is hard work sometimes. I am glad to hear you had such wonderful insights. I am sure some of this will be very sage wisdom you can pass on to many in the future. lovingpet

I hate to break it to you, Lookie, but there are such events. I usually come away with something inspiring from each major one that I go to. The last one was SELF and the topic happened to be D/D relationships.

After years of searching without success, I threw my criteria out the window several months ago. I met someone from another site. Our profiles didn't match as we were looking for different things. But through chatting, emails and eventually meeting, I have found someone very special. This person is totally different from what I thought I wanted! Thank you for sharing and may joy find you. I hadn't seen this comment until now. In My opinion, this was one of the best discussions I attended during SELF this year. Presented by Mistress Musette with assistance from her husband Purple Haze, the topic was D/D relationships. More specifically, how a D/D relationships such as theirs has branched into poly, since neither of them submits to the other. During the time, we also discussed how jealousy can come up between D/D couples over various things, such as the availability of submissives and play for one more than the other. (Usually the female D of the couple. Something she and I had discussed here on these boards before.) I did start a thread on that particular class on the poly board.
