I've been meeting people online for over 13 years. I don't know that any one website/personals site is better than another. I think if you ask the right questions, and observe behavior over time, it's easy enough to figure out who people are (even if they don't realize it themselves). As far as I'm concerned, I don't go by what people tell me they are.....I make the judgement call for myself. (by judgement, I mean if they are compatible with me, not if they are 'good' or 'bad', etc). "Intelligent, good-looking, genuine".....if I'm considering putting my energy into that person, it doesn't matter what they think of themselves, it matters what *I* think. Taking personal responsiblity for how my time is spent....I generally have good luck with whichever medium I use. People are people; online just puts up a few more curtains (Wizard of Oz reference). For those that are looking, understand you WILL kiss a lot of toads. Also, just because someone doesn't meet *your* requirements, doesn't make them *fake*.
