Actually you have more to worry from petting Dogs then you do from petting sharks.

More people are seriously hurt from Dogs EVERY DAY then are hut by sharks EACH YEAR.

Probably because the odds of getting face to face with a dog, versus a shark, are just a teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeny bit higher.

Now, if we all went around trying to hug sharks....

According to that one guy he says you can take anyone to pet Tiger Sharks.

It was a discovery Channel thing he takes all sorts of people out and lets them touch sharks and even had a toddler do it once.

Can't remember his name or the show it was on Shark Week though.

Actually they did a Documentary on the first time the Shark Suit was Used and the dude was Fearless.

He didn't hesitate and forced his sleve in the sharks mouth a few times.

The ASPCA got the documentary pulled because in it the Sharks Teeth were Pulled out and they determined this was Cruel treatment of a shark.

PBS who held the Documentary pulled the whole thing rather than just the scene of the shark teeth getting pulled because I can only assume the bad press was not something they wanted to deal with.

I have seen Excerts from it on Discovery and Animal Planet but never the whole thing in full the way it was on PBS.

I thought that shark teeth were pretty much designed to do that.  Kind of like chinchilla fur.

I agreed and that was my thought too, however apparently from the little thing that was on the PBS website about why the show had been changed it said something about when the teeth were ripped out there was visable blood in the water and the shark retreated quickly and no one at PBS or the Documentary makers could prove that the shark was not harmed and so they pulled it.

I missed the first showing and it was scheduled to be on the following Saturday the TV Guide said it would be on instead they dhowed Masterpiece Theater
