So we met a darling boy today. It's our first functional 'meet' strictly from here on CM -- we've met a couple of others, but we'd met them first through local events, then found them on CM.

If things work out, he could be the first new servant in the House in a while, and while it is all so new, and we really haven't made a single decision yet, I can't help getting my hopes up just a little bit. It's been a while since we've had an active servant in training in the House, and I'll be honest, I sort of miss it.

Well, in any case, if nothing else, it was a nice lunch.

Well, I guess this one wasn't a good fit for us, either. But it was interesting to feel the hope for a little bit.

Well shoot, Calla. Here I was all prepared to say that I was keeping My fingers crossed for you. I'd still say that it was a positive, as I haven't noticed you specifically saying that you wanted to add a servant to the house for a while.

Honestly, Steel, I don't know. I wasn't expecting to have any kind of decision from him for another week, but he decided, so there we are. He said he preferred to keep his reasons for his decision to himself, and while I'd like to know, since I think that it may help me to evaluate how we are interpreted at meetings, and see whether it is consistent with what we actually are, as a household, that is his prerogative.

It is still a positive, and the meeting was a pleasant diversion, even if it didn't generate a new servant for us. This one came about sort of unexpectedly, and I think, since I wasn't really looking for it, and it just popped up sort of randomly, that actually raised my hopes a little more than if I were actively working to find someone.

In any case, where one flower sprouts, another can grow, so time will resolve all. Thanks, for the good thoughts, LP.
