But seriously, what is society’s problem with the nipple? I have seen places that require women to wear black tape on them, dancers that must wear pasties. Some may say that it elicits arousal. Well a lot of people feel like that about a breast or a neck or even toes, yet no one is out telling everyone to cover those up. A nipple has the same tendons, nerves as many other parts of the body so what is the big deal?

I have to agree with you, my best guess is that people need some way to say they are not seeing too much and the nipples are easy to cover

I think it skirts legality issues to not have the nipples exposed, plus pasties are great accessories to a routine, if they're the dangly  sparkly kind you can swing and twirl about.
