ORIGINAL: Aneirin Oh, I will do it, that is a definate, but just got to get my head around why I hinder so much. You say males have the aureole pierced, yet I see males with what looks like the nipple pierced, is it the nipple is pierced, or does it just look like that due to their size. Also my interest is in bar bell type jewellery, but those whom I have consulted say for a recent piercing, rings are put in, is this so, does it have to be, or can barbells be fitted from the start ? Someone I knew had one done as a gift, but he messed it up, the reason was, he was told he was cleaning it too much, he used surgical spirit for cleaning. I had my nipples pierced a number of years ago. A few years after having them done I took the rings out for a short reprieve and the hoes closed so quickly that I couldn't get the rings back in. Personally, I had the aureola pierced since my nipples were relatively small and I was interested in some "rough" play. I think that is probabloy why most men get the aureola done instead of the nipple. If you put a larege diameter ring in a small nipple there isn't much flesh left actually holding the ring. I think bars can be put in right from the start, but the reason for using rings is to make cleaning, and thus healing, quicker. The rings you can "rotate" to a fresh, clean area each time you clean the piercing, where with the barbell you can only kind of push it back and forth in a relatively small area leaving it resting in almost the exact same place in which you started making it difficult to be sure the entire wound has been cleaned. Healing time for me was realtively quick, though I tend to perspire quite a bit, and the sore nipples rubbing on wet cloth while working was a bit disconcerting for about 3 weeks.
