Alphascendant -> Loved vs. Used (7/4/2009 6:53:24 AM)

These are not my own words, but they seemed nice enough to share:

USED Vs. LOVED

While a man was polishing his new car,
his 4 yr old son picked up stone and scratched lines on the side of the car.
In anger, the man took the child's hand and hit it many times;
not realizing he was using a wrench.
At the hospital, the child lost all his fingers due to multiple fractures.
When the child saw his father.....with painful eyes he asked,
'Dad when will my fingers grow back?'
The man was so hurt and speechless;
he went back to his car and kicked it a lot of times.
Devastated by his own actions ... sitting in front of that car
he looked at the scratches;
the child had written 'LOVE YOU DAD'.
The next day that man committed suicide. . .
Anger and Love have no limits;
choose the latter to have a beautiful, lovely life....
Things are to be used
and people are to be loved,
But the problem in today's world is that,
people are used and things are loved...
During this year, let's be careful to keep this thought in mind:
Things are to be used,
but People are to be loved ..
Be yourself....this is the only day we HAVE.
Have a nice day and best regards.
Watch your thoughts, they become words.
Watch your words, they become actions.
Watch your actions, they become habits.
Watch your habits, they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

glad they aren't your words, so it won't seem offensive when i say :
"What a bummer"[:'(].
Couldn't they use a better more believeable story to illustrate the same idea??? Was Glenn Beck the writer of  that story?[;)]

I have no idea who actually wrote them, or whether it is actually true or not. Regardless, stranger things have happened.

Last time I heard that one, word for word, it was from the lips of a Satanist at a Goth party in SF around 1998.

Yet more evidence of my Glenn Beck theory....oh, it said a satanist not one of his minions....but still

Those are nice words?!?!?!?!?[:'(]

Granted, the story of father and son is an ugly one, but it seems that the writer of this story was trying to stimulate a loving idea, where as posting it here has failed to do.

windchymes -> RE: Loved vs. Used (7/4/2009 7:48:13 AM)

Ick, what a horrible story...I hope it's just fiction written to make a point.

I do agree with the principle, though.  People are people.  Things are just things.

aravain -> RE: Loved vs. Used (7/4/2009 9:34:19 AM)

~FR~

I dunno... people are fickle. Things don't really change (or, if they do, it's usually predictable).

(Just trying to stir up some trouble :D)

I saw a bumpersticker once, it said; "The most imporatnt things in life are not things."
Cars and trucks are just that, dents and dings can be fixed.

FullCircle -> RE: Loved vs. Used (7/4/2009 9:58:30 AM)

I guess the moral of the story is to aim for the more fleshy parts when engaging in domestic abuse with a wrench that looks like a fish.

DesFIP -> RE: Loved vs. Used (7/4/2009 10:32:40 AM)

You've got one hell of a weird idea of nice. Ick is all I can say.

Aylee -> RE: Loved vs. Used (7/4/2009 11:35:53 AM)

That was hideous.

FullCircle -> RE: Loved vs. Used (7/4/2009 12:45:29 PM)

There is definitely some room for improvement in this piece.

Snopes has it as an urban legend: http://www.snopes.com/horrors/parental/fingers.asp

Time is the most valuable thing you can give someone.

Time.

HatesParisHilton -> RE: Loved vs. Used (7/4/2009 9:18:57 PM)

Being an "ascendant" in order to reach a status of "Alpha" is one of the first and foremost precepts and tenets of  "Satanism" as they like to present themselves to the Press (even before yahoo and google existed).

Maybe that has something to do with it.

Oh the irony of a bumpersticker saying that.
