In keeping with the theme of this section, I am compelled to ask this question:

In approx 2.5 hours I am getting inked at a local tattoo studio. What has been on my mind all morning is, Is getting a tattoo another form of needle play? I mean...it's not like what we usually associate with needle play yet the artist will be working for about an hour or so doing the piece I'm getting done.

~note to self - try not to get too aroused during the tattooing~

to me, yes

many people experience a feeling similar to subspace when getting tattooed

i go into a sort of subspace while getting tattoos. i love it.

I think the answer will depend on the perspective of the person being inked and the artist, both have their own point of view, ya know?

depends on where the tat was,. for me... the one on my right calf, and the one on my lower back... sheer torture.  The one at the top of my spine.. *purrrrrrrrrrrrs*  serious happy endorphins

Got back a half hour ago and still kinda buzzing away....[:D]  Link to pic is in the H&P thread of anyone wants to lookie, since it'll be a while before it's approved for my profile. Just call me an ink slut cause this my 3rd and have the 4th and 5th planned to where I want them and now just a matter of deciding what I want and saving up as they'll be bigger pieces and with several colors.
