I say:

Assumption
Arrogance
Lack of communication
Dishonesty
Ignorance ( lack of common sense)
Desparation
Greed

I am definitely open to opinions--if we had to define the 7 deadly sins of this WIITWD, what would YOU say?

Evidently, farting should be on there somewhere, as well.

LaTigresse -> RE: The 7 Deadly Sins... (7/5/2009 6:54:24 PM)

I think that, except for the BDSM specific things that Prin listed, everything listed are relationships sins. Regardless of the type of relationship.

gift4mistress -> RE: The 7 Deadly Sins... (7/5/2009 7:24:17 PM)

I don't see why ignorance is a bad thing unless you are purposely being ignorant than you're being in denial. By definition ignorance is just not knowing something so unless you know everything how aren't you ignorant? Now, lacking common sense can be a sin however it depends on the situation and the person. I mean, what is common sense to me may not be common sense to you.

Assumption -- Assuming is a type of ignorance in my opinion because you think you know something, but you don't.
Arrogance -- Duh :]
Lack of communication -- A sin is defined by an action or human characteristic in an INDIVIDUAL that would be deemed as unethical or unmoral. Lacking communication isn't something that an individual can possess however is something that a system can contain. Now, I'm not saying that bad communication is a good thing. And in essence, assuming is a very common form of communication problems thus making LOC a form of ignorance.
Dishonesty -- Duh :]
Greed -- Duh :]
Desperation -- This one's a 50/50. I mean, if you haven't had food for 3 days, you maybe a little desperate for food. No?

YAY, I narrowed it down to 3 deadly sins. Let me add one that would include almost every bad characteristic: being in a state of denial. If I had time I would explain why being in denial is the ultimate and only true sin as I believe you can link every problem in mankind to some form of denial.

gift4mistress: I am intrigued by this as I often feel that way---however in an effort not to steal the thread, I hope you come back and expand in a nwe thread on these thoughts, I think it would make for great debate!

I have only one
doubt

I have found through the years that doubt is the strongest destroyer of relationships.

pixidustpet -> RE: The 7 Deadly Sins... (7/6/2009 7:06:00 AM)

indifference.  if the top is indifferent to what's happening to the bottom in a scene/playtime, there is going to be a LOT of "missing the mark" (the definition of the word "sin").

indifference can lead to grave injury, as i see it.

sparkelfairy -> RE: The 7 Deadly Sins... (7/6/2009 8:47:42 AM)

Just curious, do you secure your toilet paper on the dispenser like a waterfall that the end of the paper is facing outward?

NorthernGent -> RE: The 7 Deadly Sins... (7/6/2009 11:00:09 PM)

A closed mind.

Believing you have nothing to learn.

MaamJay -> RE: The 7 Deadly Sins... (7/6/2009 11:13:11 PM)

Assumption
Arrogance
Lack of communication
Dishonesty
Ignorance ( lack of common sense)
Desparation
Greed

Now if I just rearrange it to

Greed
Lack of communication
Arrogance
Desperation
Assumption
Ignorance
Dishonesty

doesn't that make a much easier acronym?

faithfulfemme -> RE: The 7 Deadly Sins... (7/6/2009 11:30:04 PM)

Personally, i don't think Greed is a bad thing in a BDSM relationship.....i'm a greedy lil submissive sometimes, but that doesn't mean i get what i want.  However, that also doesn't mean i can't want it.....[:D].....
