Smell is very important to me. I tend to have an above average sense of smell than most people, so will even smell things even if they aren't in the same room. Sometimes a bit of incense or scented candles would enhance the atmosphere, and if it is one of those softer scenes, nice easy listening music drifting in the background. Heavy scenes I prefer doing in silence, aside from the moans of the bottom of the evening, with the smells of blood, sweat, fear, arousal and anticipation. One of my guilty pleasures is to take one of my floggers, homemade or store bought and inhale the odor. It does something to completely engulf me, and when I'm bottoming, ready to take the first hit, irregardless of intensity.
Color is not as important, although I top in my Goth outfit (see avatar) because it is so cool. However, put pink, yellow or purple in a scene and I will seek and destroy it first.
