I've witnessed this a few times. I was just at the club last night, and was invited to join. I was just wondering if this would be a good start for a novice submissive?

That depends.

SM scenes aren't a required part of submission, so there's no need for you to get involved in that at all, unless you're interested in it.

Assuming that you *are*, then it would depend on lots of things. Are the people you're considering playing with competent? Do they have the same "goals" as you do (ie, are they looking for a ltr and you're just looking for one scene)? Is the scene they're proposing something that you're interested in trying? Are you comfortable in environment and with the people who populate it?

Public play is a pretty good safety net, in that you have all those other people around to help out if you holler "stop that you motherfucker!" and he doesn't stop. However...public play isn't for everyone. Some people find the exhibitionism a rush, while for others it shuts them down. You may not know that until you try it though.

Bottom line, if it feels right to you, then go for it. If there's a little voice inside your head saying "nope, this doesn't seem like a good thing", then trust that little voice and wait until it does feel right to you.

I have had nothing but a fantastic time every time I have chosen to play in a public scene. I am not everyone however, and there are those that get frightened when faced with the idea of being naked in public.

Experiences are 90% of the time, what you make of them. If you are excited about the experience and expect nothing but good to come of it then that is what you will get in return. If you are just looking for something new and fun to try, go for it! It is a fantastic experience. If you are looking for the be all end all answers to why you are a sub, etc.... I suggest you look elsewhere.

As a new person to the lifestyle. You want to experience things. So you can actually decide what your limits are..etc. I'd suggest it. At least in public nobody will break your limits. There should be a DM (dungeon monitor) at any party you attend. Talk to them prior and they will supervise your scene for you. Custom for you.

Of course it also depends on how comfortable you are with your body. If you could handle a public anything.

I would love to play in public, but it will never happen as hubby is very private about what we do. The closest i came was playing on cam at a public cam site with my first r/l dom. I really enjoyed that.

i don't think i would feel comfortable playing in public because i would be too self-conscious.

I think it would be a wonderful experience....maybe just to find
who you really are....and what would be for wonderful nite out
with your r/l always Dom/Master.
