here we go  again .just becus i spell one or two worlds wrong its a big deal .get a life not every one could spell .i f you dony have any thing nice to said then kept to your self ,

I say old chap I do believe you are on the wrong site if you want everyone to be nice to you when you are absolutely horrid to others with your bad spelling, punctuation and grammar. Could I perhaps suggest you invest in a spell checker which also correct grammar and punctuation? My my, there forums actually have one here as well.... In other words old lad, if you want to be taken seriously then write seriously.. I'm reasonably sure a few others will echo this too.. Quite a few after a few posts like you have done, may well just ignore you and thus you miss out on positive good feedback and information.. The attitude you have just demonstrated either genuinely or in jest just shows laziness in my book.

I am not trying to be ugly here.  Really.  But, it seems to me, when taking someone to task for improper spelling, grammar, and punctuation it would be best not to have spelling, grammar and punctuation errors in the rebuke.

Yeah, but we can actually understand what IB is writing.

Again, this poster has been on the boards for years under another name. We've all had the experience with him, hence the lack of empathy.

This is the same guy that told a submssive that she should "just obey" when the Dominant she was seeing ordered her to shoplift to prove her submissiveness.

newone11 -> RE: Bastinado (7/13/2009 8:15:44 PM)

Even if toture has patently silly opinions of what a submissive should do...the chiding was still funny.  Maybe it's just me.

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: Bastinado (7/13/2009 8:17:47 PM)

No, it's a cop out to say that on a web site this huge it's not possible to spell your name correctly.  Choosing not to is certainly your right, I spelled one of my nick names equestreanne, since my middle name is Anne, and I was heavily into riding horses at the time. People always said you spelled your name wrong it's trienne not eanne, and I would just say I know how it's spelled but anne is a pun.

There is nothing particularly "cop-outish" about choosing the user name that YOU want rather than one that someone "Thinks" you should have in order to "prove" to them you can spell. Know what I mean?

Thank you for that useful tidbit...i'll ask Husband computer Master if i may install it... i can't promise anything at this point yet though and still think people should light up on the spelling.... English is a pain... know or no.... recEIve for crying out loud... recieve or receave or receaf...receef... i mean... christ why somany differnt letters for the same bleeding sound?
I vote in favour of everybody communicating in Dutch from now on
veel makkelijker, echt waar

No offence taken  newone. There are only two errors in my post which are: “The My my,” should have been “My,my,” and ” spell checker which also correct grammar and punctuation?” should have read “spell checker which will also correct grammar and punctuation?” Just overlooked one comma and forgot one word. Not sure what you were referring to regarding spelling unless you exclusively use US English. My spell checkers are either set to Australian English or (the one I use most often, UK English. This used to create much disruption for a couple of spelling gurus in the US but then I prefer correct usage of the English language unless I slip into using Australian Slang. If you found my writing style amusing I am pleased about that. How I write here is how I speak. Rather dated I grant you but I can live with that and refuse to lower my standards to the Aussie Pub Pathos

newone11 -> RE: Bastinado (7/14/2009 12:53:04 PM)

Ah, sense of humor (or humour if you'd rather have the Queen's English) in a person is a good thing.  The spelling I was referring to in the post was "there" instead of "the" which would make more sense to me but, on a second look, it's more likely a usage diffference rather than a spelling issue.  I hereby take back the spelling comment of my post!  I haven't a clue what "Aussie Pub Pathos" would involve but it sounds like something awfully interesting.  :)

kiwisub12 -> RE: Bastinado (7/14/2009 1:56:30 PM)

If its anything like New Zealand, its talking at the lowest level you can . Dumbing down, as it were.  And i know very intelligent individuals who indulge in this behaviour. very odd!

newone11 -> RE: Bastinado (7/14/2009 2:34:19 PM)

And it's a deliberate way of speaking? You're right...that is odd!

If this thread was the whole of my knowledge of this site, I think that I would have a lot more confidence in IronBear than the OP.

A lot more.

the Queen's English

Not in my book she's not.[;)]

Oh and in case the humour does not register ... it's not her fucking language that is commonly spoken in the U.K.
Try speaking the way the queen does in any pub or shop and you'll definitely get "service with a smile" (and the odd guffaw)

KateyCaine -> RE: Bastinado (7/18/2009 4:04:05 AM)

Hmmmmm......sounds painful. Very much so.

However, in all seriousness, if Master ever decided to punish me in this manner, i would trust in Him that He would know what is best for me, in order for me to learn, and i know He would never compromise my safety.

k. (Still sounds VERY painful, though)

Please tell me you're joking......(???!!!!)  That's just plain reprehensible. ANYONE who orders a sub to commit a criminal act should not have the temerity to call themselves a Dom. They are a disgrace to the D/s lifestyle.

IronBear, Your "errors" as they have been referred to, were so insignificant that i didn't even notice them, and i am an English graduate. Possibly nit-picking on their part?

p.s. i like Your profile - i notice that You are an animal lover as well. my best to Your fur-children :)

I had forgotten about that part but Oside is right, this guy did say that. Plus no matter what the problem was his only comments where to have her stand on uncooked rice or beat her feet.

Not to mention that some of us actually like bastinado. For me it isn't painful until it is hard enough to break bones. I don't do pain but bastinado isn't painful to me, it's just a deep foot massage. I pouted seriously when he stopped doing it because I have one damaged foot (damn horse deliberately stepped on it when I wouldn't let him eat my new straw hat)

In a place this size, all the correctly spelled user names are taken.

And that is why I use this nonsensical name everywhere.
