I think I have a good measure of enrichment in my life.
Like others here, both Steve and me paint and sculpt and write. We are constantly inspired to try new things and we do those things together whilst both encouraging one another.
The love for our children and the love and laughter they give us in return, The wonderful people we know and share our time with and the space that we share together that always feels full of energy and a quiet contentment.

So... do you have an enriched life? What makes it enriched for you?

Are seeking to enrich what you have or is status quo the deal? If you are seeking to enrich it.... how are you going about it... what are you doing to enrich your life? Why are you trying to enrich your life?

finally... what does it mean to you to have an enriched life

I can't really say. I think I have a fairly *rich* life in many ways but it's awfully lacking in some others.

The status quo has been fine for a very long time and a necessary place to reside........but JUST over the horizon there's a new dawning and I'm getting more and more impatient to feel it's rays.....lol

To have an *enriched* life, pretty much means the same as enhancing .......it means adding value.

Tons of things do that, for me... going to festivals, learning a new instrument, learning how to make jam with my Mumsy,  eating Dad's fresh peas from the pod........Things like still HAVING a Mum and Dad, even if they drive us all insane with their antics, watching the womb-escapers discover stuff...running away with M and leaving them all behind....Family..yes...... that's it.....family.

I do not seek to have what others have. I am amazed and blessed beyind belief to be where I am and to have known the love that I have. I find no need to seek the Magick kingdom of "There"--that place eluded to by sales and marketing ads that ensures when you arrive, you will be deemed beautiful, perfect, and accepted.

I enrich My life every day as I breathe in all it has to offer: My incredible UM, no toxic relationships and a potential submissive who adds to My life, not drain Me for his needs alone.

And now with My BP under control, I enrich My life by adding 50 years to it.

Yes... (and holly I love your line!!), I am going to go with this answer.  Enriched?  I am danged lucky!  I am rarely sick, I have a roof over my head, a few things as property, great kids, doable family, I go out now and again.. ect.  I don't want a lot.  And I have lived a life that if I wrote it down and I didn't know me.. I would buy it.
What is enrichment when speaking of life?
All I know is when I catch myself in a reflection I have a smile more often than not.

I do, yes. I've never felt more content with my life in fact.

There was something missing. I didn't know what. After a series of related events, I decided to pursue a PhD in psychology in order to teach (and do research) at a research university. Learning is very satisfying but an unexpected bonus is that by being exposed to students who are, for the most part, two decades younger, I have new appreciations in music, art, socializing, and networking. It's a whole different world.

finally... what does it mean to you to have an enriched life?

It means getting out of that rut, finding enjoyment from various sources, being open to learning new things and meeting new people. In short, enriched means (to me) keeping it fresh.

For me, the definition of an enriching life is one that in some way allows Carol & I to explore ourselves and each other and helps us to learn how to be better carol's and jeff's. Like a lot of things, I see this more as a state of mind than a state of being. For me, I am never "enriched enough", just as I am never "close enough with carol". It's always a more is better thing and I'm always working on it.

In terms of specifically how, here's some of what's in progress right now...

a) Get Carol out of her day job (check)
b) Get Carol into a job more suited for her (in progress)
c) Get Carol's art/woodworking career started up (in progress)
d) Get us moved to Canada for a more suitable overall lifestyle (in progress)
e) Continue to work on strengthening our authority dynamic (never-ending)
f) Make some decisions about my career, if any, looking forward.

In short our entire lives are in the process of being uprooted right now in the interests of "enrichment".

DavanKael -> RE: An enriching life!? (7/13/2009 3:03:18 PM)

I have life.  :>  It is better than the alternative.
There are moments and aspects that please me more than others.
I aspire to greater joy and connection as well as health and longevity.
Waiting is,
  Davan
