"So Mr. Eisman gave me quite a nice string of pearls and he gave Dorothy a diamond pin and we all went to the Colony for dinner and we all went to a show and supper at the Trocadero and we all spent quite a pleasant evening."

It is from a book called "A Subtreasury of American Humor" I inherited the book and have never read it but should. Since the first few pages  are missing I don't know the copy write date but someone signed it in 1942 on the inside of the binding of the book. The story from the book is called "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" by Anita Loos and the book only has the first chapter from that book which has many famous authors stories in it.
