No BDSM experience, although I've learned a lot from browsing here and a few other sites and reading/posting on a few forums in the past.
After cross-examining my personality and running hypothetical situations through my head, I'd classify myself as a mostly-dominant switch (worth noting that it takes just the right kind of person and mood to bring out my submissive side).
I'm not particularly sadistic (at least not when I'm in a pleasant mood :P) but at the same time I don't have any real opposition to sadomasochism, within limits (blood and sharp things make me feel uncomfortable). I'd probably love giving a good spanking so long as the "victim" appeared to be enjoying it. I imagine it to be rather... therapeutic. :)
And usually my desire to make a point or try out a new idea (such as the things my own imagination regularly concocts) has been known to overcome all but the strongest of my own fears or inhibitions. ;)
