Miz Suz,
Hello. I was listening to Dokken today. Which metal bands do you enjoy?

There's no way I could list them all, but some that come to mind are:

Rammstein
Tool
A Perfect Circle
Bile
Clutch
NIN
Black Sabbath and/or Ozzy
Blue Oyster Cult
ACDC
Zeppelin
Disturbed
Drowning Pool
Audioslave
Marilyn Manson

Why am I drawing a blank? Perhaps I haven't had enough coffee yet.

I'm fond of most genres of music. Metal, Classic Rock, Blues and Jazz ranking highest on the list. I also enjoy classical - I usually reach for Bach's Brandenburg concertos first. Country and Western I don't care for much at all, although I will admit that country has come a long way towards being what I would have called country rock 20 years ago. Opera I can usually only take in very small doses. I think I've got some high frequency hearing loss because I can never make out what someone singing in a falsetto is saying (perhaps because of my penchant for loud metal music most of my life and/ or due to my years working on loud construction sites). My inability to understand has a lot to do with my not caring a lot for opera.

It seems my tastes wax and wane. I'll listen to one genre for a long period of time then get bored and switch for a while then switch back. Rock is usually my default.

I like Dokken too, but I haven't listened to any in some time.

SirKenin -> RE: Whats in your car cd player? (2/19/2006 11:18:19 AM)

That is the funny thing. Cadillac went and put 9 speakers, two subwoofers and a power amplifier in My car..... And a TAPE DECK!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAGH!! What the hell were they thinking?

So I do not use it for anything. Best sounding stereo ever if you have tapes for pete's sakes.

talmar -> RE: Whats in your car cd player? (2/19/2006 12:28:17 PM)

That sucks. Most of the old tapes I hav laying around here won't play anymore. I wore those out in my "boom" box days.

fastlane -> RE: Whats in your car cd player? (2/19/2006 12:36:40 PM)

Talmar...you aren't old enough to know boom boxes....are you?

As for me....I still listen to eight track tapes in my 55 chevy...LOL

Who?...Led Zep, AC DC, and the bloody Beatles..for happy music ; )

An eclectic mix is in my CD player today:

Earl Klugh,
Manheim Steamroller,
Kenny Rogers, (yeah, you read right: Rogers, not Loggins, who's usually there instead...)
Frank Sinatra,
and Andreas Bocelli's 'Toscana'.

Well.

I SAID it was an eclectic mix!

lolol ; )

What do you enjoy listening to in your car (if anything) while you are driving?

I recently took a 3600-mile road trip, and had with me everything from Big & Rich's "Horse of a Different Color" and Trace Adkins' "Songs About Me," to Journey's "Escape" and Metallica's "Load," to George Carlin's "Napalm and Silly Putty," and finally to one of John Sandford's "Prey" series books on cd - can't recall which one right now.

Ack! You and Master ought to get together to compare notes. That's all He ever listens to in the truck, it seems. I think He bought the cell phone not so much so we could more easily stay in contact, but so He could call in to those shows!

Steve Perry has one of the greastest rock voices of all time. I love Journey's albums.

bigjohnson -> RE: Whats in your car cd player? (2/23/2006 10:25:53 PM)

Well i have to give myself a plug here....i know it is shameless but here it is. I am a musician and i am recording all the time right now so i have a CD of all chords so i can improvise while I drive. I know it sounds kinda stupid but it is amazing the stuff that i have to record on my mini recorder to try to find words for later.

As for what i listen to while not listening to chords i am listening to the Jazz Standards, you name it i have it on one of my iPods. I also listen to alot of unknown artists like Trace Bundy, if you like Jack Johnson then you will like him. But he does not sing, it is just him and his guitar and maybe a bass or drums every now and then
