So many it "depends" (no pun intended) riding on this one. Online is fine for what it is, but ultimately it lacks the human touch we come to crave. Words can however, affect us more deeply than we sometimes bring ourselves to admit. Would exposing the reality in a real time presence, simply consume us with pity? Could it become a surrender to sympathy, diluted within an obedient heart to the disability? Should punishment follow if when spiraling upward in a fit of sub-frenzy, I become forgetful in the moment and find myself running from the room screaming hysterically as I wave her prosthetic leg replete with candy-cane red polish lovingly applied above my confused head? (those who know me were just waiting for this moment, to the rest of you, my sincere apologies) chia* (the pet)
