DesFIP -> Why I'm not a true sub (7/17/2009 9:57:59 PM)

Got a phone call earlier. The Man is out of town working. He took the chain saw with him and didn't take any of the safety equipment. Worse he took down a tree which got hung up so he tried to cut the tree over his head. Of course a branch came down and got him in the face. He bled horrendously apparently, and the Urgent Care refused to deal with him and sent him to the Er thinking he had nicked an artery.

Luckily the bleeding was because he took two aspirin this morning, and then took two more for the pain afterwards. Five stitches in the mouth.

And instead of being polite and subbly and all, I yelled at him. I may even have used those forbidden words "I told you so". I told him I had no sympathy for anyone who treats a chainsaw like a screwdriver. And so on.

He scared the hell out of me. And his poor daughter who got to drive him to and fro with him pissed off and taking it out on her. The more he yelled, the worse her driving got. I did tell him to apologize.

After yelling, I sent him an OSHA link on safety rules for chain saws and then tried to scare him some more by going into the debate on steel toed shoes or not. If the tree is too heavy for them, the steel can come down and cut off your toes. Without it though, the toes will get badly crushed possibly needing amputation anyway.

True subs don't do stuff like this I'm told. Thank God I ain't true.

You GO, Girl........and just for good measure, boot him in the ass with a pair of steel toed safety shoes when he gets home!  And don't worry, I'm sure your twueness is intact.......sounds to me like he had it coming to him!  [;)]

However, to his credit, he DID go to the doc's.......when I was younger, my dad had a snowmobile trailer fall on his hand.....split the middle finger open and broke it all to hell.....did he go to the hospital?  OOOOOHHHHH NNNNNOOOOOOO....instead, he wraps his hand in a bath towel and DRIVES 36 miles to work......actually tried to put band-aids on the injury.....took 40 stitches and splinted for 2 weeks to heal....he wouldn't wear the splint for the 6 weeks....figured if he could bend it, it was fixed.  Imagine coming home and finding a blood trail in the snow, up the porch, and into the house......and three other towels soaked in blood!  And once he got the finger stiched and set, he actually thought he'd go back to work!  Man has the pain tolerance God gave a rock......and boooooy, did my mom yell at him!

DesFIP -> RE: Why I'm not a true sub (7/17/2009 10:18:26 PM)

He only went to the doc because he couldn't get the bleeding to stop. Took an hour before he did that.
I'm wondering what I could get for a used chain saw.

And yeah booting him in the ass with the boots he wasn't wearing sounds real appealing.

GreedyTop -> RE: Why I'm not a true sub (7/17/2009 10:54:32 PM)

Yikes, Celeste!  I'm glad it wasnt worse!  (and yes, by all means, boot him the ass....!!!!)

then i am as fake as they come too Celeste. I gave Jim a serious case of holy hell when he rolled our SUV, driving home in an ice storm (even though his company provided beds for just such a situation) and then admitted he was speeding.

It was not that i was angry at him (well...ok, i was) but the fear of what could have happened made me go off on him.

Thank God your other half is ok. If you are still pissed...tell him the best thing he can do is rinse with Listerine [:)]

CatdeMedici -> RE: Why I'm not a true sub (7/18/2009 4:26:26 AM)

Huge hugs C..oy oy oy--men.

Bening submissive IMHO does not mean one has to stand idley by or quietly by when a Dominant pulls a stunt or said stunt scares the hell out of them.

Submissive does not equate to emotionless.

Sunnyfey -> RE: Why I'm not a true sub (7/18/2009 4:27:07 AM)

Celeste, you know we love you :)

If my man did something half as stupid, he'd better expect me to go off on him like a cheap chinese bottle rocket. I will NAG like a son of a bitch, until he says he's sorry. *nods empathetically*

Sides, I cant submit if he's not alive....*shivers*

sunshinemiss -> RE: Why I'm not a true sub (7/18/2009 5:12:30 AM)

Thought you ladies would like to hear this.

Aaron Tippen and his wife had an argument, and he wrote this song after.  Sounds kind of autobiographical to me, but I could be wrong.  *It happens.

Have a great day!

And Celeste, glad he's ok.  whew!

Rainfire -> RE: Why I'm not a true sub (7/18/2009 6:58:18 AM)

*shrugs*

I may not yell at Him (I do value my ass somewhat) but He knows when I'm not a happy camper. I also don't nag, did enough of that with the first hubby, ain't gonna do it again. But I do believe in letting Lumus know my feelings when I'm not thrilled with something He did. He asked for communication, He's gonna get it whether He likes it or not. *winks*

Celeste, glad he's ok.... any possibility that next time he goes somewhere to do some work, that you'll be doing his packing?  [:)]

LadyHibiscus -> RE: Why I'm not a true sub (7/18/2009 7:05:55 AM)

DingaDANG, Celeste!  Thank goodness he is okay!

Is this our sweet Holly suggesting something this evil? Gasp, can't be!
I already told him not to do that. And even the emergency nurse told him not to.

He has however agreed to remove the aspirin from the first aid kit and substitute another NSAID that doesn't have the blood thinning side effect.

Motrin, they didn't give him anything. And I asked about that immediately.

um...excuse me there Levlie-poo...
you are doing a lot of work on your property. Are you doing it safely?

*taps foot...waiting for an answer*

Celeste...get ready with that link...

sirsholly -> RE: Why I'm not a true sub (7/18/2009 2:17:28 PM)

And yanno...in defense of all of us, anger is the easiest emotion to deal with and to express. When Jim had his accident i was scared to death until he walked through the door...then i let him have it!! It was fear hidden behind the smokescreen of anger. The tears came later.
