Good Afternoon,
I have been reading posts for about 6 weeks and I think it is time for me to stop lurking.
I am a black woman who found out about the lifestyle while browsing through Borders bookstore. I read about submission and realized that it was a natural extension of my own submissive nature that had grown from my upbringing. I would be a submissive woman even if I never entered into the lifestyle.
Within the lifestyle, I find the ability to be authentic about who I am. My desire to give love, respect, nurture, obedience in the emotional, physical, mental, and spirital aspects of a relationship complement a man who wants to give leadership, protection, love, and nurture in all aspects of our relationship.
Sex is only one aspect of my expression as a submissive. However, since it invovled my senses, my body, my mind and my emotions, it is one of the most profound ways of expressing myself as a submissive.
I am a well educated, professional woman. My work life requires me to be on my "masculine" side even though I maintain a quiet and gentle spirit while doing so. In relationship to my One, I am able to live fully out of my "feminine" side and that brings me great joy and peace. I am blessed to have connected with One who likes me, accepts me, encourages me and is willing to help me grow using the D/s structure of our relationship.
Due to my work, he and I will not meet face to face until late March. However, our consistent communication is laying a foundation of friendship and caring. I am looking forward to taking that next step forward.
The forums here are thought provoking and I hope I will be a good contributor.
