over the past i have counted roughly 300 fake profiles all from Africa looking to steal and scam money.... you should ban these people with ip banning.

I agree. I find it very frustrating that the folks at CM, and Alt, and all these other places don't bother doing that - it takes real people and real programmers and real network engineers, and those don't come cheap, for no returns.

Use your mail filters and set your search to your state. Doing so will mean you will rarely notice one. Most of us use our mail filters wisely. Why don't you?

As I pointed out in another thread, IP banning is pointless, it accomplishes nothing. Anybody with a rudimentary understanding of IP networking can change their IP address any time they wish. You may notice that ISPs charge extra for a static IP. Unless you are paying for that service you have a dynamic IP, which means that your IP changes.

HAHAHA because i Know how to use IP Banning I'm the fool right... you people are brilliant! think of it this way how many poor fucking Nigerians do you think have computers? now if the moderators had access to IP Banning, Subtract one account per day per moderator. I see at least 16 moderators. As clearly I was chastized for placing my post in the wrong category. If they took that same effort to use IP Banning as I can so Easily do with a simply go daddy account for my websites... your problems would be gone.

Poor answers, Poor excuses

Quite frankly pretty lame for other so called DOM/DOME to be attacking my statements when clearly it would benifit them as well. If you have to deal with 97% fake adds to find .1% who are new or looking an curious and that .1% gets a letter from an African who wants to steal their money... you .1 % will eventually go to 0% and your site becomes useless. once it becomes useless and no one is clicking your banners, guess what... no money to support the site and your site fails and becomes a joke just like slave registry.

Oh and BTW for the smart ass that says set the filters for the local area, when they sign up for the accounts they use US addresses iddiot... all they need is a zip codes not to hard to find that on the internet huh. Print a sheet out and ban.. these people work in offices like a telemarketing group, they don't have computers at home. They have no idea how to reset the ip on a computer they just set the stuff up and run a big shop.

I understand I'm wasting my voice on fools, one day you'll get smart and realise even a mediocre webmaster can do a better job than this to keep unwanted groups out. In the end this website will eventually get sued by a member, because they didn't take precautions to protect the members from scam artits... it's happened b4... and they will loose. ask AOL they have been sued for wrongful death cases and lost.. as well as yahoo who no longer has member created rooms because of a Wrongful death case as well as several pedofile cases. It's only a matter of time before someone sues you.
