Normal has become a very complicated issue in western culture... both idealized and maligned at the same time. For many normal has become little more than a setting on their dryer, while for others its become some sort of holy grail. Personally I think either are unhealthy extremes. For me personally, normal means I'm able to go to work, hold down a job, and have a social life without freaking anyone out or getting myself arrested. Normal means I can function in society productively and generally without scaring the neighbors.

The man in the article from the OP got arrested because he violated other's property and rights... he got himself arrested because he lacked the ability to control his own impulses. Instead, his impulses controlled him and rather than respect others, he chose to destroy others property to suit his own selfish desires. Had he simply gone online, ordered a case of said rubber balls and had them delivered to his home... his life would likely be a lot less complicated right now... and he wouldn't be freaking anyone out.

so, you might be the sort of man that has a BC, but it ain't all that B, and that is going to be most of the bell curve out there, they already gotta get worked over by every day society, and then you gotta put that on em.

BWC or even SWC people have nowhere near the pressure.

FR, after continuing read thru

I had an additional thought about the situation described in the OP & my initial reply: criminal behavior strikes me as being somewhere between the norm & the second deviation, at most. That is, criminal behaviors are not very uncommon, even downright 'normal'. The kink described, tho', is definitely more than two standard dev's from the norm . .. . .

Man turns himself in in exercise ball case

DULUTH, Minn. - A Duluth man wanted for allegedly breaking into a medical clinic and slashing rubber exercise balls has turned himself in.
Christopher Neil Bjerkness, 31, was arraigned Monday. He turned himself in early Saturday after calling police and was taken into custody without incident.
Bjerkness has a history of burglary to satisfy a self-professed sexual fetish for slashing large rubber exercise balls. He is accused of breaking into the St. Mary's/Duluth Clinic West building last May, where he allegedly slashed exercise balls.
Bjerkness is charged with second and third degree burglary. Bail was set at $10,000.

Now, reflecting upon this for a while, I took an exacto knife and carved up a golf ball (having no experience in this endeavor, I chose to downscale the thrill........baby steps. Yanno----if you don't know what you are doing, go real slow....)

It wasn't happening for me.

Anyway, whatever kink you think you got on you, it is nothing new under the sun, or anything approaching what is out there in the world.
