I seek inspiration. I always have.
If service (be it as slave, as mother, as friend, as teacher) can fulfill this need for inspiration then that is all I ask of life.
What inspires you in relationship?
Do you seek inspiration and if so where does your search take you?
Who has inspired you?
Who continues to inspire you and why?
To what purpose do you put that inspiration?
Edited to add: are you aware if you have inspired others?

Watching the strength of others inspires me. People are amazing, watching them deal with such adversity pushes me forward more than anything else.

I seek a jolt from others that opens my eyes to other ways of thinking or being.  Is this what you mean?

I seek contact with people who amaze me with their perceptiveness, or compassion, or brilliance, or joy.  Perhaps they inspire me to grope feebly in their direction, though I do not feel some glow of my own doing in such contact; I feel only aspiration to do better.  Is that what you mean?

Inspiration for me is about broadening, not about fulfilling what I already am.  Thus service, while wonderful, does not feel "inspiring" to me.  "Motivating," perhaps...  but that is a different animal.

Or perhaps I pick nits.  I'm so curious about what led to your question...

Well the thread got moved to off topic so someone made the decision that my inspiration had nothing to do with bdsm???
Yes my service inspires me.
But I also accept what your definition of inspiration.
What got me to opening the thread in the first place was simply looking back and yes writing...as I do.
And my ability to turn even the most negative, tasking and difficult situations into inspiration (eventually).
Fulfillment, happiness is not on the same level with regard to it being an inspiration.
Just thinking out loud as usual.

That there is an amazing skill, I think something that often many of us miss out on. The ability to see the positives in the worst situations.

I am inspired by how different people are from one another.

I knew one man (not a partner) who inspired me to write, once. He was the male version of a muse for me.

People have many different "muses" in their lives.  Some people find it in love.  Others find inspiration in places, music, and art.  Personally, the idea that I can better myself and those around me is what inspires me the most.  My perspective is very self-absorbed, but I don't like depending on things that I can't control.
