ah, by saying the word "Everlast" you qeued up one of my favorite songs.

What It's Like

I've seen a rich man beg
I've seen a good man sin
I've seen a tough man cry
I've seen a loser win
And a sad man grin
I've heard an honest man lie
I've seen the good side of bad
And the downside of up
And everything between
I've licked the silver spoon
Drank from the golden cup
And smoked the finest green
I've stroked the fattest dimes at least a couple of times
before I broke their heart
You know where it ends, yo, it usually depends on where you start

That is a great song Katy! I could get drunk and sing that like Whitey Ford.

Is that the one that has..... "If you're rich she swallows. if you're poor she spits"?

Sartoris, that line is from "Ends" it's another good one
I'm not smart, I had to google, but I thought it was that song.

quote:

If you're rich she might swallow
For the ends

edited to add for Sartoris

Brava..pretty smart you are... to find the title of song given one line especially when the line given was not correct. Everlast may not be as prolific as the Stones, but there's a few songs out there to search.

Anyway new song haunting my head now........for the ends..

Hey K.L. [:D]
The song you stated earlier by Everlast is one of my all time favorites too. I love the lyrics and the tune. It rocks!

yourMissTress -> RE: that song you love (2/20/2006 10:02:40 PM)

Music, my first love, the one I can't live without, the one that is with me in good times, bad times. The love that lifts me up when I'm down, the one that brings a smile to my face with the first beats of a song. The love that holds memories of people both gone from my life and gone from life and brings their memories to the forefront for a few minutes at a time. The love that can chronicle my life and my bangs (or lack thereof). The love that can carry me off to sleep...The love that can take me to heights of extacy and tears.

Or just that rocking fucking tune that's on now that makes me want to dance and headbang.

I couldn't possibly name A song, group or artist or even a genre for that matter. Anything that's not made for commercials, or the teeny bopper crowd. Anything that's starts with an emotion and ends with feeling. Dark, light, lovey dovey, or hard there's canned-made-to-market and there's music.

When one strikes me it strikes me and when it does it's likely to be in my head for a month.

I know that's not the answer you were looking for, but the question struck me at this moment in this way...

Do you ever hear a song on the radio and it makes your day. My music likes varies a lot but when ever I hear Cascada "Everytime We Touch" it just gets my blood pumping and I just want to get up and dance..

What's your song?......... [:)]

hmm movies can pull a tear to my eye on occasion but i am so spoiled with music its rediculous. i rarely listen to music on the radio because the sound quality isnt as good, havent since i was a kid, and on the occasion that i do its when i am somewhere and someone else has it on.

The only time i listen to more than 1/2 a song is if i have company or its black sabbath acdc or some other heavy metal group that has a superb recording usually on video dvd and usually a live version so i get that next best thing to being there feeling. with well over 100,000 songs i tend to skip thru them listening to whatever are my fav parts. its because i only have an hour to maybe 2 on the outside to listen to music then i am done for a couple days. and the reason for this is because i listen to it so loud. i do not mean it sounds loud like when you tell the kids to turn it down kind of loud, it sounds loud like going to a concert kind of loud so its very easy to listen to long and totally destroy your hearing. at least at a concert it ends in a couple hours and of course with this you can listen as long as the electric company is in biz.

i hate rap, techno bores me, definitely heavy metal fan but grew up with and have a taste for a lot of different music. i would say a few songs that instantly pop in to my head that i listen all the way thru just to hear the lyrics would be flatt and sgruggs, gonna ride that steamboat, johnny cash the banks of the ohio, sad but good songs and on the bright side most of fogartys stuff i will listen to for lyrics.

Now THERE's a singer to love, 3-1/2 octave resonant range and all!

Funny, most people like his 'Pretty Woman', but it's hardly his best song.

Even remakes of his songs are pretty good, at least Don McLean and Nazareth.

Petruchio -> RE: that song you love (2/20/2006 11:43:20 PM)

Don't talk of love…
Well, I've heard the word before.
It's sleeping in my memory.
I won't disturb the slumber
of feelings that have died.
If I never loved,
I never would have cried.

KatyLied -> RE: that song you love (2/21/2006 4:51:34 AM)

And a rock feels no pain;
And an island never cries.

Another great song

moonchild71144 -> RE: that song you love (2/21/2006 10:29:26 AM)

My song is ANYTHING performed by Chris Isaak. Now, there is one HOT man. He makes me melt inside.

swtnsparkling -> RE: that song you love (2/21/2006 4:06:25 PM)

Gauge, Phil Collins - I Wish It Would Rain - I love that song. Seemed like to me it hardly ever played on the radio or Maybe I just kept missing it. Actually I thought it was his best.

My daughter makes CDs for me of favorite songs and on every single one of them I tell her dont forget to add BLACK by Pearl Jam all time fav always sends me some place nice.

I can't get used to their version of Last Kiss, though. My 'logical' brain says I should like it better than the older J. Frank Wilson version, but some circuit inside me won't allow it.

Like A Hurricane
Neil Young

Feel the Neil love.
The lyrics and the music.

You are like a hurricane
There’s calm in your eye.
And I’m gettin’ blown away
To somewhere safer where the feeling stays.
I want to love you but I’m getting blown away.

Ok, if we're going to talk about Neil Young, my personal favorite...

"Needle And The Damage Done"

I caught you knockin'
at my cellar door
I love you, baby,
can I have some more
Ooh, ooh, the damage done.

I hit the city and
I lost my band
I watched the needle
take another man
Gone, gone, the damage done.

I sing the song
because I love the man
I know that some
of you don't understand
Milk-blood
to keep from running out.

I've seen the needle
and the damage done
A little part of it in everyone
But every junkie's
like a settin' sun.
